Regenerate, Redeemed Sinners still Sin ...

1Jn 1:5-10 ...This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

The occurrence of sin in a believer will diminish with maturity, but sin in the believer will never be eradicated in this life.

Don't ever forget that ... confess your sins, daily.

1 John 2
And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: 6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

1 John 2
Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. 10 Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him[b] there is no cause for stumbling. 11 But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

1 John 2
If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him.

1 John 3
Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. 5 You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. 6 No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. 8 Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's[b] seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. 10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.

1 John 4
If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot[a] love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.

1 John 5
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. 4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith
Are you confessing your sin daily, @Johnnybgood?

1 John 1
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness,we lie and do not live out the truth.7 But if we walk in the light,as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
An avoidance of vv 8, 9, 10 ...

Are you continuing in sin daily ?
You, me, and all other Christians sin daily Johnny.
Looks like I have the whole book of 1 John on my side. You have one verse .
If you ignore the thesis of the OP, and the admission of the Apostle John that even he sins, and confesses his sin.

I don't know why you would that ... ??

as you and your friend always say:

oops
That's civicChalcedon's schtick.

Are you confessing your sin each day, Johnny?

None of those verses refutes the apostle's admission that he sins and confesses his sins to God for cleansing.

I have dealt with cultists (eg. Mormons, JW's, Moonies, etc.) for 30 years. And a very common tactic they use is to falsely accuse others of what they themselves are guilty of, such as falsely accusing you of ignoring 1 John and the NT, when he himself is constantly denying and rejecting 1 John 1:8.

I know. It's nonsensical.

I'm constantly amazed at Christians, so-called, who insist they don't sin. In saying that, they are sinning, according to 1 Jn 1:8.

@Johnnybgood

You appealed to John Gill earlier so I have John Gill on 1 Jn 1:8ff just for you ...

If we say that we have no sin
Notwithstanding believers are cleansed from their sins by the blood of Christ, yet they are not without sin; no man is without sin: this is not only true of all men, as they come into the world, being conceived in sin, and shapen in iniquity, and of all that are in a state of unregeneracy, and of God's elect, while in such a state, but even of all regenerated and sanctified persons in this life; as appears by the ingenuous confessions of sin made by the saints in all ages; by their complaints concerning it, and groans under it; by the continual war in them between flesh and spirit; and by their prayers for the discoveries of pardoning grace, and for the fresh application of Christ's blood for cleansing; by their remissness in the discharge of duty, and by their frequent slips and falls, and often backslidings: and though their sins are all pardoned, and they are justified from all things by the righteousness of Christ, yet they are not without sin ...

Jesus command : go and sin no more

oops to bad you reject Jesus teaching and live by your standards not His.

An imperative (ie. command) is not the same thing as an indicative (a statement of fact).

Yes, Jesus commanded us to "go and sin no more" (Actually, you're probably going to consider this a cop-out, but the text you're quoting from (John 8) is widely disputed and considered not to be part of John's original gospel.

Yes, regrettably, we still stumble into sin, as Scripture confirms.

There is no "contradiction" here.

1John 2:1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

Why do you still have unconfessed sin?

He is the self professed chief of them all . He used Paul’s words of a past life to justify sinning. It’s an abomination .
Ignores the the confession of the apostle: If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 Jn 1:8-9

In favor of his cult's teaching he is sinless.

In light of that, I find it difficult to view @Johnnybgood as a Christian.

If you have been cleansed from all sin, would you then be sinless?

Revelation 12:10
And I heard a great voice in heaven, saying, Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accuseth them before our God day and night.

Zach 3:1
Then the angel showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, with Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.
The apostle is your accuser: If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us ... 1 Jn 1:8

Jesus has all authority in heaven and earth . Heed Him !

John 5:14
Afterward, Jesus found the man at the temple and said to him, "See, you have been made well. Stop sinning, or something worse may happen to you."

John 8:11
She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”
