Regeneration as new life revisited

You ignored the point which is not seeking God but responding to a God who seeks them

2 Corinthians 5:20 (ESV)
20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

The issue is responding not seeking

John believes men could respond

John 20:31 (ESV)
31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

The gospel is hidden from those who reject Christ when they turn to him the vail is taken awasy

2 Corinthians 3:13-16 (KJV)
13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
Man by nature doesnt seek God. The Gospel is hidden to the Lost 2 Cor 4:3-4 Gods purpose in the Gospel for the Lost is death unto death.

There is no rebuttal, man doesnt seek God Rom 3:11 and the Gospel is hidden to the Lost. God doesnt seek lost folk with the Gospel, He increases their condemnation with it.

Again, no rebuttal, you just spamming Gods Word. Man doesnt seek God, and the Gospel is hidden from the lost man, which is the same man that doesnt seek God. Dont get me wrong, man will seek a god, the god of his imagination, but not the True God.

So you believe the work of the Spirit in bringing the gospel and inspiring men to preach it is insufficient in itself to save and requires the Spirit's personal involvement

What does the Spirit's personal involvement provide that his word lacks ?

Is the word of God insufficient to convict ?

The Spirit enlightens the mind to the word.

The word can convict but not sufficiently for salvation if without the Spirit.

So in other words the word of the spirit as seen in scripture is insufficient unless the spirit himself personally speaks it ?

If you read a book is the authors intent not understandable unless the author personally speaks to you

I dont waste time with your spamming up scripture. Nothing changes the fact that men naturally under sin doesnt seek after God, and the fact that the Gospel is hidden to the Lost .

Your both falling into ditches on opposite sides of the road.

God's grace is NECESSARY, free will is ALLOWED.
That does not address what was stated

TomFL said:

BTW I affirm both grace and free will

So you are missing the mark

No. I. Am. Not.

You certainly

Did not address what was stated

and your comments in support of free will and grace is fully consistent with my position

You do weird things with separating out the "Bible" as just words and information, neutering it into some secular purely natural thing, while simultaneously confusedly constantly conflating it as if JUST WORDS were somehow the Holy Spirit and he wasn't a separate Person empowering a supernatural message, and then tell ME that I'M the one missing the mark?

I have consistently affirmed scripture as a work of the Spirit

Can you deny scripture is his word he has inspired

I asked once before can you not understand an authors words without him personally having to speak them to you

In any case I have provided multiple verses supporting the idea man can understand anbd believe the word

It might be a good idea for you to address them

I gave humongous amounts of Scriptural support that you ignore for the teaching of one benighted human being who is twisting the truth.

That is NOT missing the mark, brother.

That's a bullseye.

You have no scripture that i ignore

If you think otherwise provide such
