Resisting God, His Grace, His Spirit

I’m so happy the Lord directed me to carm . I have learned the truth from these dialogues . So for that I am thankful the Lord predestined me here meticulously to read these threads on this forum .
Amen !

Loraine Boettner has stated on p. 59 of his book, The Reformed Doctrine of Predestination,

"prove any one of them true and all of the others will follow as logical and necessary parts of the system. Prove any one of them false and the whole system must be abandoned."

The OP collapsed tulip the false doctrines of grace . Thank you 🙏

But none of them have been "proved false".
Nice try, though...

LOL ... noticed the system hasn't collapsed. That's because you've proved nothing. 😏

God is resistible as we read in both Testaments below.

Titus 2:11
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,

Since all men are not saved and Gids grace goes out to all men, Gods grace can be resisted.

Acts 7:51
“You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit!

God the Holy Spirit can be resisted.

Hebrews 10:29
How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Here we see the Spirit of grace resisted, insulted, rejected and trampled under.

Hebrews 6:4-8
It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

Here we have those receiving Gods grace sharing in the Holy Spirit of grace reject it. They have fallen away permanently from His grace and can no longer repent.

Psalm 78:17;40
But they continued to sin against Him, rebelling in the desert against the Most High. How often they disobeyed Him in the wilderness and grieved Him in the desert!

Here we see them in the wilderness rejecting Gods grace upon them and grieving God in the process.

conclusion: just 1 passage showing God can be resisted is enough to prove it is true. But as we see there are plenty of passages which prove man can resist God. I affirm the famous Calvinists position that "prove any one of them true and all of the others will follow as logical and necessary parts of the system. Prove any one of them false and the whole system must be abandoned." Lorraine Boettner

As we see above grace is resistible which makes tulip invalid. The doctrines of grace are actually the doctrines of un-grace.

hope this helps !!!

Okay. God is resistible till He isn't?

There are levels of influence God takes in humanity. Some experience more than others.

Self serving. It is relevant. I haven't seen anyone insist that God can't be resisted. God can be resisted until He uses overpowering force necessary to not be resisted.
Irresistible grace declares it to be , don’t get me wrong it is a heretical teaching .

How? Irresistible Grace teaches that God overcomes the resistance of men. Not that God isn't resisted. He is. God simply overcomes resistance.

So when you appeal to verse where God is being resisted, we agree. God can be resisted till God decided to overpower all resistance.

From Wikipedia:

Irresistible grace (also called effectual grace, effectual calling, or efficacious grace) is a doctrine in Christian theology particularly associated with Calvinism, which teaches that the saving grace of God is effectually applied to those whom he has determined to save (the elect) and, in God's timing, overcomes their resistance to obeying the call of the gospel, bringing them to faith in Christ. It is to be distinguished from prevenient grace, particularly associated with Arminianism, which teaches that the offer of salvation through grace does not act irresistibly in a purely cause-effect, deterministic method, but rather in an influence-and-response fashion that can be both freely accepted and freely denied."

So if someone comes along with a verse about "resisting the Holy Spirit", unless you can demonstrate that the person involved is one of the elect, you haven't "disproved" anything.

LOL.

"Irtesistible grace" is God's electing grace, grace by which God chooses whom He will save.

Quit playing games and cite scripture affirming God's will to save this, or that person is, or can be thwarted by this, or that person???
