Your treatment of Psalm 137:9 is horrible. This was God's judgment upon the Babylonians for what they had done to the Jewish children.
Not at all, for my point was how both God and Israel felt about the babies of the wicked and God doesn't change, but the only difference now is that he has provided a solution for their sin and sinful habits through the sacrifice of Christ on the cross.
So whereas we don't go waring against the wicked and their children anymore like God commanded Israel to do, we instead reveal his law through our lives and how we live and then preach the gospel message unto them and leave the rest up to them and God.
For this is what God instructed the church to do and not to attempt to legislate his morality unto them when they have no power within themselves to be able to obey it.,
In fact, if you read Paul's words in Romans 7 about what the law does when preached to unbelievers, you will see that it actually makes the sin within them come alive even more and this is why abortion was made legal to start with , because instead of the church revealing the law to the lost through how they live, they instead went out and preached the law at the abortion clinics.
This only made the sin within the unbelievers come alive even more and this stirred them up to go out to the polls in great numbers to vote and to voted against the pro life of the churches and there are always more lost than there are saved and that is why abortion became legal to start with.
It is because the churches involved themselves in something that God never instructed them to be doing in this.
If you read Daniel 2 and 4 and also Jesus' words in Acts 1:6-7, you should see that the "times and season" and which refers to the appointment of the world leaders and the removal of the world leaders in their appropriate times and seasons is God's business alone and not that of the churches.
In other words, God is going to put into power whoever he deems necessary to put in to power to either bring correction or blessing to his people and it really therefore doesn't matter what the churches do with their voting except that many times God will give his rebellious people what they want in order to bring correction upon them.
In other words the true church or the church that abides in the truth, leaves who is appointed to rule over any given country up to God alone and they get on with the business of preaching the gospel like they were really instructed to do.
