Roman Catholic Thoughts On Spiritual Delusion . . . .

The Catholic Church is the church that Jesus started and he gave authority to the Pope/Magisterium.

That is, of course, patently false. Your church didn't even exist until the 4th century when it forced the other churches and their bishops to accept it as the self-appointed ecclesiastical authority. So its claim Peter is the Rcc first pope is, too, patently false.

Neither of these things is remotely true, but are Catholic fairy tales the rulers have been telling its constituents for many centuries--fostering unwarranted pride in itself.
He Catholic Church is the only church that has a history dating back to Jesus and his disciples.

That is not true. The facts of history doesn't support your beliefs.

This too is patently false. Jesus' church began at Pentecost when Peter gave the first Christian sermon where over 3000 repented, accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and were baptized. His church has been alive since that day and just so you know, it's NOT the Rcc.

That is not false, the Catholic Church has a history dating back to the early church. We can name bishops for each century, from the first all the way up to this century.

No they are not.

Dr. Brendan McGuire, a Catholic historian, has a great series of lectures on the medieval papacy, and he agrees that Pope Gregory was the first to have what the Roman Catholic Church envisions as papal primacy.

Notes

  • Gregory's authority, and that of later popes to this day, was only in the west. The churches of the eastern and continuing Roman empire were never under the authority of Rome.

Where is the Church today then? The answer 'anywhere but the Catholic Church' is disingenuous and convinces no one looking for the church of the Apostles day.

False doctrines didn't come around until the 16th century.
Oh. False doctrines such as:
Adoptionism, Apolinarism, Arianism, Docetism, Marcionism, Monophysitism, Monotheism, Montanism, Nestorianism, Pellagianism, Sabellianism, and others?

All these teachings were condemned by church councils and, in some cases, popes. All before A. D. 1500. ?

FYI,
doctrine
noun
a belief or set of beliefs held and taught by a Church, political party, or other group.

Sorry to tell you this, but as God preserved His Word by having a multitude of copies made and spread all over, He has done the same with His people — spread us all over.

You and many other Catholics on here keep asking, "Where is this 'true church'? Show me it!" I have a theory. Don't know if it's any good or not, but here goes:

Like the Samaritan soldiers in Elisha's day, and the Jews of Paul's day, you have been blinded by God. You *cannot* see the church even though it is all around you. This blindness will keep you from seeing the church, or accepting what I am saying. Remember, the Jews of Paul's day (the ones he declared blinded) "knew" they were doing God's work in persecuting Christians.

False doctrines that a "Christian" church accepted.

Where do we find such an authoritative body serving that purpose today outside the Catholic Church?
