Roman Catholic Thoughts On Spiritual Delusion . . . .

Sacred Tradition cannot disagree with Scripture and in fact Scripture is part of and came from Sacred Tradition.

Examples of some Sacred Traditions are as follows:

  • Peter is the Head of the Church.
  • Mary retained her virginity before, during and after the birth of her Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Mary was born without Original Sin.
  • Mary was assumed into heaven body and soul.
None of these Rc sacred traditions come from Scripture or is Scripturally misinterpreted as in Peter as the 1st pope. You wrote (Rc) sacred tradition cannot disagree with Scripture but then, given the lack of Scripture in support of Rc sacred tradition Scripture can disagree with sacred tradition or be silent, absent of any God-breathed written Word, which is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. That is a huge chasm to navigate and obviously a big problem for Rc's and its ecclesiastical authority, the Rcc.

The Canon of Scripture is the most important point of agreement between the early Fathers. Without that agreement, we wouldn't have Scripture. That is worth valuing wouldn't you think? That agreement.
And yet they did not agree. Jerome rejected the apocrypha. Athanasius has our bible except he included Baruch. So, not sure what youre talking about with this alleged agreement. The first dogmatic 'agreement' took place at Trent when you were forced to agree with an anathema attached to it.

And then they complain that Luther – who had translated the Bible what, 20 years prior? – did not follow the RCC canon!
Confusion, anyone?

Exactly! And he did translate the apocrypha. They just keep perpetuating the myth he didn't.

NO way! Satan has rc's stumbling and fumbling around in the dark thinking that they are good with GOD. Why would he ever want to shed the light of the truth on his lies? Wouldn't it be counterproductive to what he actually wants?
Satan quoted Scripture to JESUS during his temptation. A "Theologian Skilled in the art", can make Holy Scriptures say any blasphemous thing he wants. After all, satan knows the scriptures, and how to "adjust them" better that we do.

catholics sure don't know much about Protestants.
Nor about Codex Vaticanus, which was written on vellum, which is derived from animal skins, a.k.a. leather! Oh, the irony!
do you all also learn what you know about them from the rcc?
Where else? Insofar as pilgrim believes in the RCC as the way, the truth, and the life. Must be them Giacomo Chickalini tracts. 😉

Mocking Gods word again? God inspired the writers to write. Thats all Bonnie meant. Not to speak for her but we know how we got our bible and the rcc had nothing to do with it.
Then why didn't Bonnie say that? Is it too difficult to say that God worked through the Popes and bishops to codify Scripture, even though it is the truth? Because if they didn't do it, then it floated down from heaven.

It floated down from heaven all leather bound with those handy book tabs. (Protestant version 🙄)
Baloney! That is not the Protestant version. But God did give us the Holy Scriptures. By inspiring His prophets and Apostles to write them. Didn't He? Are they not one of His greatest gifts to us?

No, that is not what I meant. God inspired His prophets and apostles to write Scripture and scribes copied and re-copied them. He made sure His word would be preserved.

The core of the NT was pretty much decided by the end of the 2nd. Century--long before popes or your Rcc existed. In fact the entire Canon was codified before the entire church had come to be ruled from Rome, though it was on its way.

What your church's Scribes did was copy and recopy the Scriptures thru the centuries, so it would not be lost. For that I am grateful.

No kidding! That is how the Reformation happened and continues to this day.

Who decided the "core" of the new testament at the end of the 2nd century, long after the passing of the apostles?

Why was God only "pretty much decided" by the end of the second century? When did He become fully decided?
