AV Mt 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man{G444 anthropos} shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
AV Mk 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man{G444 anthropos} , and not man{G444 anthropos} for the sabbath:
So you are not a man{G444 anthropos} then ???
So you think Jesus is a hypocrite in word usage of "Man{G444 anthropos}" ???
As long as man references man for authority, there will be error and killing in error.
Yours in Christ, Michael
I think you are applying a meaning to the passage that Jesus did not intend.
I do know that God stated in no uncertain words who the Sabbath was given to as a sign. Perhaps you should read the words that actually proceeded out of His mouth.
The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “But as for you,
speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘You shall surely observe My sabbaths; for
this is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you. ‘Therefore you are to observe the sabbath, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. ‘For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD; whoever does any work on the sabbath day shall surely be put to death.
‘So the sons of Israel shall observe the sabbath,
to celebrate the sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.’ “It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased
from labor, and was refreshed.” Exodus 31:12-17 NASB
In order to keep the Sabbath, you were not to prepare food on the Sabbath, or leave your house, or buy or sell, or journey.
In those days I saw in Judah some who were treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sacks of grain and loading
them on donkeys, as well as wine, grapes, figs and all kinds of loads, and they brought
them into Jerusalem on the sabbath day. So I admonished
them on the day they sold food. Also men of Tyre were living there
who imported fish and all kinds of merchandise, and sold
them to the sons of Judah on the sabbath, even in Jerusalem. Then I reprimanded the nobles of Judah and said to them, “What is this evil thing you are doing, by profaning the sabbath day? “Did not your fathers do the same, so that our God brought on us and on this city all this trouble? Yet you are adding to the wrath on Israel by profaning the sabbath.” Nehemiah 13:15-18 NASB
And though I am risking having a Adventist poster claim that I am committing the logical fallacy known as an appeal to authority, your own prophet who you claim to be an authoritatve source of truth backs Nehemiah up.
"The Jews had so perverted the law that they made it a yoke of bondage. Their meaningless requirements had become a byword among other nations. Especially was the Sabbath hedged in by all manner of senseless restrictions. It was not to them a delight, the holy of the Lord, and honorable. The scribes and Pharisees had made its observance an intolerable burden.
A Jew was not allowed to kindle a fire nor even to light a candle on the Sabbath. As a consequence the people were dependent upon the Gentiles for many services which their rules forbade them to do for themselves. They did not reflect that if these acts were sinful, those who employed others to perform them were as guilty as if they had done the work themselves. They thought that salvation was restricted to the Jews, and that the condition of all others, being already hopeless, could be made no worse. But God has given no commandments which cannot be obeyed by all. His laws sanction no unreasonable or selfish restrictions

The Desire of Ages, p. 204, para. 1)
BTW, you might want to read this same passage when you look at that list of Adventist unwritten "sabbath laws".
The Sabbath was given by God to Israel and Israel alone as the sign of the covenant between them. There is no indication of any human ever observing a Sabbath until Exodus 16. Not Adam and Eve, not Enoch, not Abraham or Isaac, no one. And there is no command given in the New Testament to Christians telling them to observe the Sabbath.
I will understand if you wait till after sundown today before you respond so that you are not buying internet service or electricity on the Sabbath or paying people to work to provide you with those services as well. I'll also understand if you didn't shower this morning or that you not flush your toilet for the same reason of making people work on the Sabbath at the water treatment plant a few hours after you've enjoyed your cold sabbath dinner.
