MORMONISM:
Some 2,000 youth received counsel from the Young Women general president March 23 on how they, like other Latter-day Saints, can be "saviours on Mount Zion."

Sister Elaine S. Dalton was the featured speaker at a family history youth devotional held in connection with the three-day RootsTech 2013 Family History and Technology Conference in the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City. The devotional was viewed live via Internet streaming.

The reference to saviors on Mount Zion is an allusion to ancient and latter-day scripture (see Obadiah 1:21 and Doctrine and Covenants 103:9-10). It is understood to refer to the work of identifying and providing vicarious temple ordinances of salvation for those who died without the opportunity to receive them.

16 Then everyone who is left of all the nations that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and celebrate the Feast of Booths (Tabernacles).
17 And it will be that whichever of the families of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, there will be no rain on them.
18 If the family of Egypt does not go up [to Jerusalem] and present themselves, then no rain will fall on them. It will be the plague with which the Lord will strike the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths (Tabernacles).

21 Every cooking pot in [all the houses in] Jerusalem and in Judah will be holy to the Lord of hosts, and all who sacrifice will come and take them and boil [their sacrifices] in them. And in that day there will no longer be a Canaanite [that is, any godless or spiritually unclean person, whether Jew or Gentile] in the house of the Lord of hosts.
