Scripture repeatedly describes Jesus as Divine

The Deity of Jesus Christ: Jehovah’s Witnesses obviously deny Jesus is God, but how can they do this when Scripture repeatedly describes Jesus as Divine? The totality of scripture teaches Jesus is God. Take a look at this brief summary of the Biblical evidence:

Jesus Claimed to Be God
He Prefaced His Statements as Though He Was God
He Identified Himself with God’s Own Name (“I Am”)
He Said that He and the Father Were from the Same World
He Talked as Though He Was Equal with God
He Said That He and God Were One

Jesus Demonstrated that He Had the Nature of God:
He Demonstrated Omniscience
He Demonstrated Omnipresence
He Demonstrated Omnibenevolence
He Demonstrated Omnipotence

Jesus Was Worshiped as God by Those Who Knew Him:
The wise men worshiped him from the moment He was born
The leper worshiped Him at his healing
The synagogue ruler worshiped Him
The disciples worshiped him in the boat
The Canaanite woman worshiped Him
The mother of James and John worshiped Him
The blind man worshiped Him at his healing
The women worshiped Him at the empty tomb
The disciples worshiped Him at the Ascension

Also, The New World Translation has deleted Acts 8:37 because it proves that Jesus Christ is God. Here is what the King James and New International Version says in Acts 8:37.
  • King James Bible: And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
  • New International Version: Some manuscripts include here Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” The eunuch answered, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
After Jesus ascended, the apostles stunned both Jew and Roman by proclaiming Jesus as “Lord”. And the apostles did the unthinkable and worshipped Jesus, even praying to him as their God.

Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit” as he was being stoned to death. (Acts 7:59). The apostles, most of whom were martyred, passed on their knowledge of Jesus to the early church fathers who carried on their message into the next generation.

Ignatius Bishop of Antioch: Ignatius died about 110 A.D. He was a disciple of the Apostle John, and was appointed Bishop of Antioch by the Apostle Peter himself. He wrote about the lords 2nd coming, "Look for him that is above the times, him who has not times, him who is invisible". Only God is without time, eternal and invisible. In numerous other places in his letter to Polycarp he states "Jesus is God", "God incarnate"

Polycarp, also a pupil of the Apostle John, was tried before the Roman proconsul for worshipping Jesus as Lord. While the frenzied crowd shouted for his blood, the Roman judge demanded he proclaim Caesar as Lord. But Polycarp went to the stake, rather than renounce Jesus as his Lord

Clement of Rome in 96 A. D. also taught Jesus’ divinity, saying, “We ought to think of Jesus Christ as of God.” (2nd Epistle of Clement to the Corinthians 1:1)

Tertullian (AD 150–225): For God alone is without sin; and the only man without sin is Christ, since Christ is also God.

Justin Martyr (AD 100–165): Permit me first to recount the prophecies, which I wish to do in order to prove that Christ is called both God and Lord of hosts.

Jehovah’s Witnesses obviously deny Jesus is God, but how can they do this when Scripture repeatedly describes Jesus as Divine? The totality of scripture teaches Jesus is God. Take a look at this brief summary of the Biblical evidence:

Great post. If I may - Something to go along with what you've said at the end of your post:
The JW "leaders" (actually "masters" is a more accurate word, considering their totalitarian position and the extent of power and control they have over the JW masses) have admitted in their writings that a person cannot arrive at JW beliefs by reading the Bible They have declared that it is not possible:

“Let us face the fact that no matter how much Bible reading we have done, we would never have learned the truth on our own. We would not have discovered the truth regarding Jehovah, his purposes and attributes, the meaning and importance of his name, the Kingdom, Jesus’ ransom, the difference between God’s organization and Satan’s, nor why God has permitted wickedness,” (Watchtower, Dec. 1, 1990, p. 19).

“Thus the Bible is an organizational book and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, regardless of how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the Bible,” (Watchtower, Oct. 1, 1967, p. 587).

Additionally, the Watchtower says only its organization understands the Bible “Only this organization functions for Jehovah’s purpose and to his praise. To it alone God’s Sacred Word, the Bible, is not a sealed book,” (Watchtower, July 1, 1973, p. 402).

“All who want to understand the Bible should appreciate that the “greatly diversified wisdom of God” can become known only through Jehovah’s channel of communication, the faithful and discreet slave,” (Watchtower, Oct. 1, 1994, p. 8).

So, whenever any JW says they get their beliefs from the Bible, they are in open, direct opposition to their own JW masters, because the JW masters have stated in writing that this cannot happen and is NOT possible.

Considering your posts - Why bother showing you? The repeated (and I DO mean REPEATED) history of your posts is that you'll just deny, deny, deny. For example: You have claimed and have kept on claiming that Christ did not have the name "Jesus" until He was born - Even though you have been shown multiple times that Luke 1:31 clearly and plainly says and shows that He had the name before He was even conceived. All your posts did was deny, deny, deny.

Your posts have never shown anything but denial when biblical evidence is presented to you.

So - Why bother showing you anything?

I'm very serious with this question - Provide a real, actual and rational REASON for why anyone should bother.

No why bother showing when you have repeatedly been shown that vss like Luke 1:31 it saying Mary plainly was told she will conceive and when the Son was born he would be named Jesus. Let me repeat that and it says when she will conceive and the Son will be named Jesus. In the other one you all cited Joseph plainly is told you will name him Jesus and not that he already had the name Jesus. Now prove it is saying anywhere he had the name Jesus before he was born?

You show denial when the biblical evidence has been explained to you many times. You do not want to bother because the truth will be revealed and the down fall of the trinity will be near.

I deny what you are saying because I know I am 100 percent correct. The fact is unlike what you said above and that is he did not have the name Jesus before he was conceived.

LOL! 🤣🤣 Nope - You're post is nothing but "the usual" - Mere denying and running away. Here is the verse:
New International Version
You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.

New Living Translation
You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus.

English Standard Version
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.

Berean Standard Bible
Behold, you will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus.

Berean Literal Bible
And behold, you will conceive in womb, and will bring forth a son, and you shall call His name Jesus.

King James Bible
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

New King James Version
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS.

New American Standard Bible
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.

NASB 1995
“And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.

NASB 1977
“And behold, you will conceive in your womb, and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.

Legacy Standard Bible
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.

Amplified Bible
Listen carefully: you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.

Christian Standard Bible
Now listen: You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
Now listen: You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will call His name Jesus.

American Standard Version
And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Now - WHEN was this name that Mary was to give Christ given - BEFORE she ever conceived or AFTER?
Answer: He was given the name before He was ever even conceived.

A high school child with even a modicum of reading comprehension ability can very, very easily see this.

Yes anyone can see at Luke 1: 31 it says you will conceive and bring forth a son and call him Jesus. That means once he is born he will be called Jesus and not before birth or conception.

"You will conceive...You will bring forth a son...you will call Him Jesus".

That statement is all in future tense. It was made BEFORE He was even conceived.
He was given the name even before He was conceived.

In second grade I could understand that when it says you will conceive and bring forth a son and you will call him Jesus, that it means she has not conceived yet and will conceive and bring forth a son and she will call him Jesus.

Proof. If someone says you will get this check do you have it or will you get it later?

Yes, Nathan, it DOES mean exactly that. ALL of that is spoken of as being in the future from when the angel spoke to Mary.
And that means that Christ was given the name "Jesus" before He was even conceived.

LOL! Nope. What you've written above simply doesn't work, and here's why that's true:

It is glaringly obvious that the reading comprehension level expressed in your post is NOT that of someone who actually HAS what can honestly or truthfully be called a "good" one. It's not even "adequate."

PLEASE - Keep posting, Nathan. This series is doing a LOT to expose the fact that the only thing your posts do is deny and run away from what the Bible says and shows.

LOL! Nope. All you're doing is "the usual" - Mere denial. Here's why that's true:

All one has to do is honestly read the text. Here's how it goes:

The angel says to Mary "You will conceive and you will bring forth a son and you will give Him the name 'Jesus'."

All of that is future tense.
She hasn't even conceived yet.
And yet she already knows the baby's name - It was given by the angel.

WHO says the name "Jesus" FIRST in Luke 2? The angel.
WHEN does the angel say that name? Before Mary ever even conceived Him.

When He was born, what happened? Jesus was given the name that He had already been given by the angel before Mary ever conceived Him.

That is what I am telling you it is in the future tense when it says you will conceive and you will bring forth a son and you will give him the name Jesus.. It is not until he is brought forth or born that he will be given the name Jesus.

Are you trying to say when it says you will conceive and bring forth a son and you will give him the name Jesus that, that means he is already born (she has not conceived yet) and has been named Jesus? Yes anyone can confirm what it is saying.
