To save souls, which He does through the Church.then what is the role of Christ and His sacrifice?
To save souls, which He does through the Church.then what is the role of Christ and His sacrifice?
God enables the Church to save souls. That is why He established it.
Did I say that? No I did not.Our Savior is the church you say?
Did I say that? No I did not.
^ See that?Yeah you did.
"God enables the Church to save souls."
Jesus saves because Jesus is the savior, not the church.
How does the Church save souls? If Jesus saves through the church, how were people saved before the church was established?God enables the Church to save souls. That is why He established it.
^ See that?
Then what is the role of the Church?God does not enable the church to save. The church doesn't do any saving. Jesus does the saving. More specifically, God the Father does the saving through His salvation, namely, Jesus.
Then what is the role of the Church?
Put it this way. It is the Church that celebrates the Eucharist as per Jesus instruction and prepares the faithful sacramentally. It is the Church that teaches the gospel. It instructs, it encourages, it unites, it promotes charity and the virtues. In another thousand years, what the Church teaches today will be part of the deposit that helps Christians of that time, just as the past 2000 years help us today. Are you still arguing the church does the saving? It seems you are indeed.
It is clear that you are arguing that the church does the saving otherwise whatever could be the role of the church!
Yes but RCs don't do that they follow the pope and his cronies. The sheep follow Jesus. They hear his voice and follow him.
Wrong once again. You sound like the one lost sheep that Jesus has to go find, leaving the 99 of the rest of His flock behind.
Your institution has a false eucharist celebration, I mean look at the low moral behaviour of the priests for a start. Your institution teaches another gospel. It turns people away from Jesus, it does not unite, it divides, it promotes sin. Even atheists promote charity and virtue, so your institution is not a light at all. It promotes those things to cover up its lack of morals, its lies, its evil behaviour throughout the centuries and its false doctrines.Put it this way.
Your institution has no role at all. It fails every scriptural test except the bad tree test, it does not look like the real church either, its leaders fail the scritpural requirements for leaders that is just the start of why it is not your institution. Then what is the role of the Church?
I have never heard anything so strange.Catholics are taught to seek security in their flock and to believe their security is being part of their flock and following the rest of the flock. After all their flock is the "pillar and foundation of truth."
A foolish sheep thinks he has security in the flock and with the flock. He feels safe following the flock and conforming to the flock. But one sheep cannot protect another from the wolves, not even the whole flock.
A wise sheep knows his security is not in the flock and with the flock. Following the other sheep provides him no safety whatsoever. He knows that only his Shepherd provides him safety and only His Shepherd can protect him from the wolves and so the wise sheep follows HIM.
I AM the way, the truth, and the life.
No surprise.I have never heard anything so strange.
What is so strange about it? It is the truth. Do we follow the Good Shepherd, or the sheep, if the Shepherd wants the sheep to go one way, but the sheep want to go another way that would not be good for them?I have never heard anything so strange.
Would you like something to drink with your cafeteria Christianity? some whine, perhaps?Put it this way. Here we go with Protestant false dichotomy, the Christian religion is zero sum and one dimensional, if we say there is security in the flock, somehow, for some reason, this is an affront to Christ and his "all sufficient work" on the cross, blah, blah, blah.Catholics are taught to seek security in their flock and to believe their security is being part of their flock and following the rest of the flock. After all their flock is the "pillar and foundation of truth."
