How did they decide to forget how to do metal work? Iron smelting (Our sons have learned black smithing)

Well., actually ME people are already brown.....but they are Caucasians, and American Indians are of the Mongolian race, mostly from Siberia, as DNA has shown.

But you are correct--why did those who were left forget how to smelt iron? Make wheeled vehicles?
