Yes. The will of the people in Jerusalem is explicitly mentioned in the passage as being a significant factor towards the uniting of Jerusalem's children under Jesus' protection.

You didn't explain how Matt. 23:37 was "synogerstic".

Augustine once believed the truth then became apostate. Synergism and free will was what the early church affirmed until augustine came on the scene. They also denied total inability as well until he brought in the gnostic heresy of original sin.
