the original Messianic Judaism?

Essenes, Qumran community, Dead Sea Scrolls, extrabiblical History, testaments of early patriarchs, "the Way"
prophecy, Israel, the Jewish people from a Messianic (Jesus) perspective, "The Chosen" tv series, Beatnik culture,
etc etc

"I, Ezra, received a charge from the Lord upon Mount Horeb,
that I should go unto Israel; but when I came unto them,
they rejected me, and despised the Lord's commandment.

Therefore I say unto you, O you heathen, (gentiles)
that hear and understand, -

'Look for your Shepherd.
He will give you everlasting rest, for He is near at hand,
and will come in the end of the age.
Be ready for the rewards of the kingdom, for the everlasting light
will shine upon you eternally.
Flee the shadow of this world, receive the joyfulness of your glory:
testify of my savior openly. (Ezra's savior is gentile believer's savior)
O receive this gift that is given to you, and be glad
giving thanks unto Him, that has led you to the heavenly kingdom.
Arise and stand.
Behold, the number of those that are sealed at the feast of the Lord. *
which are departed
from the shadow of this world, and have received glorious garments of the Lord.

Take your number, O Zion, -
and shut up those of yours that are clothed in white,
and have fulfilled the law of the Lord. (Jewish believers)
The number of your children, whom you long for, is fulfilled;

beseech the power of the Lord, that your people,
which are called from the beginning.
may be hollowed.'"
- apocalypse of Ezra

* "at the last trumpet"
compare to all of 1 Corinthians 15 really

will I watch this? probably eventually
the Jesus guy from The Chosen as Lonnie Frisbee? - now that's funny

some distinction could maybe be made between '69-'74 and '75-'82 at that church
and similar and/or Theologically aligned churches in the region

"
Take your number, O Zion,..."

recognizing distinctions is a Dispy thing to do
I think the prophets and the Essenes did it too

my German friend (Alex), his dad was pilot in German air force sent Stateside for training and whatnot
they got put up in a very sweet house while here for 2 years

anywhere else kool you were at or been to?
Oh...those were the best places. Italy, Presidio of Monterey for Language School.
Ft. Lewis, Washington was beautiful but that's when I realized I have SAD. I could barely function after being there for a couple of months.
I also loved North Carolina and I could live there again (although not in Fayetteville, lol).
We had orders for Germany but my father-in-law died suddenly and they assigned us to Ft. Campbell, Kentucky instead of back to Europe.
There were some places he went without me...Korea and Thailand.
But overall good assignments.

"Listen to your creatures petition, and regard my word.
For while I live I will speak, and while I have understanding will I answer.

Oh forgive the trespasses of Your people who have served You in truth, (believers)
and forgive the follies of the ungodly, for the sake of those who were martyred for your covenants. (prophets?)
Do not focus on those who have behaved badly before You, but rather on those who have
in good faith reverence You.

Do no destroy those who become like animals, but reward those who receive the splendor of your Law. (Messiah)
Do not be angry with those who have behaved worse than the beasts,
but love those who have put their trust in Your glory, (Messiah)

because we and those before us have practiced works of corruption, and behaved madly;
but You are called 'The Compassionate' because of we sinners.

Because you are compassionate towards those who are not righteous,
You are named 'The Gracious One'.

For in this, Oh Lord, who are compassionate towards those who have no power to be completely righteous,
then Your goodness will be known."
- apocalypse of Ezra

post Temple Rabbinic Judaism is not Mosaic Judaism, hence a new testament
You are incorrect. There is a direct line from Rabbinic Judaism going all the way back to Moses. Remember that Judaism is not a static, stagnant religion that is carved in stone. It is a living, evolving religion that recreates itself for each new generation.

Rabbinic view doesn't fly on the MJ forum tho

Yeah, and when I said I was going to stop posting here a couple of years ago, you were the one that complained the most bitterly. Make up your mind.

Whether MJ is a legitimate form of Judaism is a topic that is appropriate for this forum.

my mom wasn't a Calvary Chapel hippie, but was sorta boho and is into books and Jazz
in the early years that movie seems about she was still going to a boring Lutheran church

she liked this band, and I remember seeing them a few times
they weren't so folkie to my liking, and I was fascinated by the Bass guy and his sound

when I got into Punky stuff I gravitated towards similar

Calvary Chapels
non-denominational Bible churches
Campus Crusade
BIOLA university
Moody
Dallas Theological
Southern Baptist

have interacted with all those churchy elements around the region in my lifetime
from casual to conservative, with for the most part similar views

have visited two Messianic places, but not for their Sabbath whatever they do
speakers liked were speaking there
and I'd assume they and others like have similar Theological bent as well
