In Calvinism, how is one sealed with the Holy Spirit without being regenerated by the Holy Spirit?I agree with Eph 1:13 but not your false addition to it. Eph 1:13 says nothing about “regeneration”.
You're not reading what I wrote. I acknowledged the following:I do not take issue with any, for none of them support your contradiction of 1 Cor 2:14.
I take issue with your assumption that ψυχικὸς person does accept and understand the things of the Spirit of God, contained in the preaching of Christ crucified, as something other than “folly”.
"the ψυχικὸς man is not a πνευματικὸς man yet and cannot discern spiritual things".
You can't just throw scripture against scripture and hope your scripture verses overwhelm all other scripture verses. You need to harmonize all Bible verses if you're ever going to arrive at the truth.Scripture is clearly against your assumption stating…
Again:
1) Man has been granted a conscience, a heart, and a mind by God (Rom 2:14-16),
2) and even made accountable to God's Gospel (Rom 2:16),
3) and is reachable by the power of the Holy Spirit's convicting ministry (John 16:7-15).
To deny all that is not only to denigrate the gifts that God has given to all mankind but it is also a denial of the power of the Holy Spirit to convict the entire world.
Those who are called are not always those who will be elected.“For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (1Co 1:18)
…and…
“but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called… Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” (1Co 1:23-24)
Mat 22:14 "For many are called, but few chosen (elected)."
Another wonderful "in Christ" verse. Thanks for sharing that one.“And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption,” (1Co 1:30)
It's when the ψυχικὸς man becomes a πνευματικὸς man.Can you answer as to how the preaching of Christ crucified became to us “the power and wisdom of God” instead of “folly”?
The big question is: How does the ψυχικὸς (not "in Christ") man become a πνευματικὸς ("in Christ") man?
Can you answer that question?
