"To what then shall I compare the men of this generation, and what are they like? They are like children who sit in the marketplace and call to one another, and they say, 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not weep.'"

Consider the opposite: music that is neither praise, worship, nor theological.

Besides, that guy who hung on the cross bloody and scarred? Pretty sure he was a bluesman :cool:.

Depends on the music. The worldly music you hear in a lot of churches these days is inappropriate.

In the old days, hyms were written both to encourage Christians and to teach theology. There is more theology in the great hymns than these modern "Praise and Worship" loonies could ever imagine.
