You don't have to act like you're saved by your water ritual when everybody and their brother knows it is a free gift.
What benefit did you derive from your empty rituals? None.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 6

If baptism is an empty ritual, why is it mentioned so many times in the book of Acts?
Why do you like talking out of both sides of your mouth?
Common Tater said:
I am not sure that I believe that baptism is salvific. I see the thief on the cross as proof that it is not essential for salvation.
The thief realized he didn't need a water ritual, a day of the week, special undergarments, he needed Christ.
Common Tater said:
Your logic tree looks like a phone pole. Suggesting that baptism is not an empty ritual is not the same a claiming it is salvific.
When it comes to the things of faith your logic is a whore, the greatest enemy that faith has; it never comes to the aid of spiritual things, but more frequently than not struggles against the divine Word. ~ML

Please explain how I am talking out of both sides of my mouth.

By the way, I simply have to disagree with Martin Luther. And he says "reason", not "logic".
Six of one half dozen of the other.
God gave us minds for a reason.
And He also gave us a new heart and mind.
They were all with one accord. Acts 2:1
But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Eph 4:7
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Cor 3:14

The idiom is actually "put in my two cents". But I suppose it could be five cents nowadays is you adjust for inflation.
It was in reference to your wooden nickel comment:
wooden nickel: commemorative or souvenir token having the value of a five-cent piece.

You don't have to act like you're saved by your water ritual when everybody and their brother knows it is a free gift.
What benefit did you derive from your empty rituals? None.

The clear word of God is not an act of men. Baptism, a gift from God through which He works does now save you through the resurrection of Christ. It is only unbelievers who deny His word and work who say otherwise.

Why don't you go soak in your hot tub and call me in the morning.

Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. Eph 5

Since God's word says baptism does now save you through the resurrection of Christ it is clear that baptism necessarily produces the fruit you claim to look for.

In Greek a present tense indicative indicates that what is being said is true from the speaker's perspective. Your disagreement is with God and His clear word.

You can try telling Him, that in your mind, repentance towards God, believing in Christ for the atonement of sins and receiving the promised Spirit was a thing of the past, as you put it, "the goal was fulfilled" in (Acts 2). Now all that's required is a quick dunk and bada bing bada boom.

A great passage which is consistent with baptism does now save you through the resurrection of Christ.

Only the confused and the unbeliever try to separate Christ and His work from baptism into Him.

Now grow up in your salvation, 3 since you have tasted that the Lord is good.
4 As you come to Him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious...
6 For in Scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who believes in him will never be confused.
Only the confused and the unbeliever try to separate Christ and His work from baptism into Him.
Tell me this, did you receive the Spirit by your ritual or by faith?

It is the risen Lord who received from the Father the promise of the Holy and subsequently pours it out on all flesh in baptism into Him. See Acts 2.
