If government officials can be censored on official accounts, then you are indeed further along than you think. If twitter accepts an official presidental account, then I hold them to let whatever President to say whatever they want.
A government official, like it or not, was hired by the people.
Government officials are accountable to the people through elections.
If they say something you don't approve, vote them out.
Anything less is censorship.

Social media websites are PRIVATELY OWNED. They can de-platform anybody they want. Are you against private businesses being able to refuse service?

It is when private companies have special projections because they are a so called platform.
Sure, the way the law stands for these monopolies is they can do whatever they want, like de-platforming competition.
The government should have no official presence on them to avoid the issue altogether.
But they are a part of your Big Liberal Machine, so it works for you. Maybe the ACLU will come to their senses and give you liberals some sensible marching orders.
