As with the Civil War, American values are being tested in a fundamental way.
We have to come to grips with just how much "free speech" means to us - and the reality is that some value it more than others. I think I'm less ready to push it aside than are some of the people in this forum, and possibly less than he author of this article.
If talk and ideas can endanger our democracy, then I submit that talk and ideas aren't the problem.
ps. in this case, stupidity and hatred of this country are.

All we can do is hope (and, if you're that way inclined, pray) that the damage he will undoubtedly do to America as a whole and our democracy in particular can be fixed relatively easily.He's a big fat stupid wrecking ball and he still has a month to do his damage.
