One of the biggest problems with JW belief and teaching is that for all of their claiming that what they believe and teach is taken from the Bible - No, as a matter of fact and truth and reality, it is really not. JW beliefs and teachings are definitely man-made-up. Amazingly so, even the JW masters have admitted to this.
Let me set this up: First of all, the rank and file JWs are to regard and treat the contents of The Watchtower as coming from God and being for them the voice of God. Here are three quotes proving that:
"The Watchtower is not the instrument of any man or set of men nor is it published according to the whims of men. No man's opinion is expressed in The Watchtower." Watchtower magazine, “Taught of God”, 11/1/31, paragraph 19
“The Governing Body publishes spiritually encouraging literature in many languages. This spiritual food is based on God’s word, thus what is taught is not from men, but from Jehovah.” (The Watchtower, "Unity Identifies True Worship", September 15, 2010, paragraph 8.)
JWs are directed to “….respond to the directions of the “slave” (the Watchtower Society) as we would to the voice of God, because it is His provision.” (Watchtower, June 15, 1957, p.370)
Now, in view of the above, consider the following quote:
"From time to time, there have arisen from among the ranks of Jehovah's people those, who, like the original Satan, have adopted an independent, faultfinding attitude...They say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home. But, strangely, through such 'Bible reading,' they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by Christendom's clergy were teaching 100 years ago..." The Watchtower, Aug. 15, 1981.
This is a very clear and amazing statement - It is saying that if you read the Bible by itself, you will become a Trinitarian, because that is exactly what the Watchtower is referring to here when it says "apostate doctrines". To put it even more plainly - IF YOU READ THE BIBLE ALONE, YOU WILL NOT ARRIVE AT JW/WATCHTOWER DOCTRINES.
This admission shows and proves that JWs do not get their beliefs and teachings from the Bible, but from Watchtower literature.
If any JWs have followed my posts to any extent, they may be upset or offended when I use the term "JW masters" to describe the WTS leadership. I do not use that term to be unnecessarily rude or unkind - I use that term because it is accurate and true. Same thing when I refer to JWs as actually being "Watchtowerites" - It is an accurate term. JWs are thralls to the JW masters; they are a controlled people.
