St Augustine (AD 354-430) taught that error has no rights. He cited biblical texts, notably Luke 14:16-23, to justify the use of compulsion. Had not Christ himself blinded St Paul in order to make him see the true light. According to Augustine, coercion using "great violence" was justified. He made a distinction between unbelievers who persecuted because of cruelty as against Christians who persecuted because of love. A war to preserve or restore the unity of the Church was a just war, a bellum Deo auctore, a war waged by God himself. He also found a way to avoid churchmen getting blood on their hands: dissension against the Church amounted to dissension against the state, so anyone condemned by the Church should be punished by the state. Centuries in the future such ideas would culminate in the activities of the Inquisition, which also required the secular authority to execute its judgements of blood. Augustine is often recognised explicitly as the father of the Inquisition, since he was responsible for adopting Roman methods of torture for the purposes of the Church in order to ensure uniformity. Already, in AD 385, the first recorded executions for heresy had been carried out under Emperor Maximus at the request of Spanish bishops. so the real CHRISTIANS above were the martyrs not the persecutors. Jesus said love those who hate and persecute you. to love your enemies and pray for them not to kill them for no murderer has eternal life. Born again believers are not murderers thats an oxymoron as the bible states and no murderer will inherit the kingdom of God. They are really goats not sheep as Jesus teaches below.

The parable is figurative and represents 2 different kinds of people, its not about animals but the human heart. Its about being loving towards others, kind, compassionate, empathetic, loving and not selfish etc.... The difference is in behavior between the two groups of peoples as represented by the sheep and goats. We know animals are not considerate or selfish those are human traits not animal characteristics. The sheep ( people ) in the parable are merciful, kind, generous, loving and willing to do whatever it takes so they can to help others. Jesus regarded them that as much as you did it to them they were doing it to Him.
The sheep(people ) because they were unselfishness , kind, loving, giving, empathetic and giving will be those who will inherit the kingdom of God whereas the goats ( people ) will not because they were selfish, self-centered and self-seeking. They will not inherit the kingdom of God for they were unloving and unkind.
Those who are dedicated to loving will receive love in return and those who are not will not and be condemned . No murderer has eternal life or the kingdom of God.

Do you find it hypocritical that some believe the opposite of what Paul and Jesus taught that you can continue in sin that grace might abound ? Romans 6:1 ?

You will know them by their fruits a bad tree produces bad fruit ( murder, hate ) while a Good Tree producues GOOD FRUIT- the fruit of the spirit where there is love, forgiving, patience, joy, endurance, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

I'll throw you a bone and go even further. "Whole world" would mean "every single country" (i.e. nation).......(but here's the qualifier), that's only after it's been determined whole world is referring to countries, and not "anything" else such as trees, birds or even people in "every single country." Other times world or whole world doesn't refer to "countries (nations)", on this we'd probably agree.

So the Holy Spirit did not know what “whole world” meant and needed your understanding of whole world for Him to be correct in your opinion. Does scripture even once say animals need forgiveness for sin ? 1John2:2 says Jesus is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world. Revelation 22:17 says the Spirit and the Bride says whosoever will come and drink of the water of life freely. No thanks I will stay with scripture actually says.

Fortunately the Holy Spirit used John and Paul (and others) to describe the various meanings of "whole world" so readers wouldn't get confused in 1John 2/2 by thinking it referred to "every single person".

Only in a Calvinist world does whole world not mean whole world, whosoever believes does not mean whosoever believes. All does not mean all, the Spirit and Bride saying whosoever will come and drink of the water of life freely does not mean whosoever will, and in 1John 2:2 ( directly contradicting you using John) he said Jesus is the propitiation for our sins and not for ours only but the sins of the whole world. No thanks I will stay with what scripture actually says minus the Calvinist qualifiers they created and placed on the gospel.

Hopefully leatherneckians don't eliminate every single qualifier in 1John 2/2 by thinking whole world means every single person, otherwise they won't love anyone in their family or church according to John here.....
