Were you born in Jerusalem?

Psalm 87 describes Jerusalem during the Millennium, when Christ is reigning on the earth.

On the holy mount stands the city he founded;
the LORD loves the gates of Zion
more than all the dwelling places of Jacob.
Glorious things of you are spoken,
O city of God. Selah
Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon;
behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Cush—
“This one was born there,” they say.
And of Zion it shall be said,
“This one and that one were born in her”;
for the Most High himself will establish her.
The LORD records as he registers the peoples,
“This one was born there.” Selah
Singers and dancers alike say,
“All my springs are in you.”

Apparently being born in Jerusalem will be regarded as a mark of distinction. Perhaps women who are about to give birth will travel to Jerusalem just so their children will be born there.
This psalm is speaking of a time in the future but today God blesses those who are born in Jerusalem, not the Jerusalem here on earth but the Jerusalem in Heaven.

It is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave woman and one by a free woman. But the son of the slave was born according to the flesh, while the son of the free woman was born through promise. Now this may be interpreted allegorically: these women are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children for slavery; she is Hagar. Now Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia; she corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother. (Galatians 4:22-26)

Christians are a family because God is our father, but I have just realized that we also have a common mother, Jerusalem. Babies born during the Millennium won’t have any say in whether they will be born in Jerusalem, but those living today can be born in Jerusalem by repenting of their sins and putting their faith in Jesus Christ.
