I see that you ignored the article from CARM. It’s not about a reference to a salvation baptismal formula but a reference to authority. Simply reciting formulas with a misplaced faith saves no one.edit
Peter is not wrong. It’s your biased misinterpretation of Acts 2:38 that is wrong.edit
Don’t forget that Jesus is the unique/one of a kind Son of God. Jesus is God in the flesh. (John 1:1,14) Keep that in mind the next time you downplay Jesus as the “Son of God.”Edit
No, the article is incorrect.I see that you ignored the article from CARM. It’s not about a reference to a salvation baptismal formula but a reference to authority. Simply reciting formulas with a misplaced faith saves no one.
It’s you and Oneness Pentecostals who are incorrect. Again it’s about “authority” and not formulas.
How's that?Don’t forget that Jesus is the unique/one of a kind Son of God. Jesus is God in the flesh. (John 1:1,14) Keep that in mind the next time you downplay Jesus as the “Son of God.”
In regards to authority. To baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19) is to baptize in the authority of Jesus. Do you reject the words of Jesus in Matthew 28:19?edit
The unique/one of a kind “Son of God” remits sins. That name applies to Jesus Christ.edit
You obey Campbellism.edit
Your argument is with the authority of Jesus (Matthew 28:19)edit
The church of Christ. Your church. Your theology has originated with men, namely THOMAS CAMPBELL, ALEXANDER CAMPBELL, WALTER SCOTT, and BARTON W. STONE.edit
Neither Peter or Jesus is wrong. You are wrong.edit
I already explained it and it’s thoroughly explained in the article from CARM. If you still can’t figure it out then I can’t help you any further.edit
Remission of sins is not received through plain ordinary H20 or by reciting formulas. In Acts 2:38, "for the remission of sins" does not refer back to both clauses, "you all repent" and "each one of you be baptized," but refers only to the first. Peter is saying "repent unto the remission of your sins," the same as in Acts 3:19. The clause "each one of you be baptized" is parenthetical. This is exactly what Acts 3:19 teaches except that Peter omits the parenthesis.edit
This is what happens when you isolate a pet verse, build a biased doctrine on it and ignore the rest of scripture instead of properly harmonizing scripture with scripture before reaching your conclusion on doctrine. You are absolutely obsessed with Acts 2:38 and water salvation!edit
