Who came up with the idea that Mormons have to earn eternal life?

Would that include born-again Protestants who work iniquity? Notice the action word, "work".

Notice the action word, “work”.

James 2:21-24
21 Was not our ancestor Abraham justified by works when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that faith was active along with his works, and by works faith was brought to completion. 23 Thus the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.

Explain to us what a worker of iniquity is. Then tell us how this veiled insult is applicable to Latter-day Saints. Stop walking around with a mouth full of scriptures and a heart full of hate.

Lucifer is a worker of iniquity

Lucifer is the mormon god's son

Lucifer is in the LSD Temple

Mormon LSD Temple is a work of iniquity

mormonism is not Biblical!

The Biblical Truth is not hate, it is Love

Ephesians 4:14-15
14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;
15 but speaking the truth in love

Galatians 4:16
16 So have I become your enemy by telling you the truth?

Nothing in those verses proves your argument.
1 Corinthians 4:15
15 For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

Are we spiritually begotten through divine decree or through hearing the gospel?

It takes more than hearing, or following Joseph Smith, that is how a person can be deceived

LDS - Lost Deceived Sinners

Romans 10:8-10
8 But what does it say? "THE WORD is near you, IN YOUR MOUTH and in your heart"—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Agreed. Been there done that? Now what?

It is God's choice to regenerate sinners who otherwise would not believe.
2 Peter 3:9
9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you,not wanting anyone to perish,but everyone to come to repentance.

17 million members have tested that verse and came away from the many false teachers who claim they are the true teachers of Christ... and yet they cannot even explain why one should be baptized or even consider it necessary...

Yes it’s true that evangelicals don’t believe baptism is necessary for salvation. However they can explain why they consider baptism by immersion to be necessary. Acts 2:41 Mark 1:9

Chuckle... not necessary for Christian Salvation or Heaven, but at the same time necessary if done by immersion? carry on, this ought to be interesting...

I’m sure you’ll be entertained by the likes of Magdalena et al who do believe this creative take on baptism.

No doubt.... ask any evangelical and they will say its not a saving ordinance...

The first saving ordinance of the gospel is baptism by immersion in water by one having authority. Baptism is necessary for an individual to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and to enter the celestial kingdom

This is not inconsistant with the preaching of many in the Bible.

John 3:5

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Man is incapable of giving himelf or any other person the new birth. Mormonism has no salvation for anyone. Salvation comes from the True God.

John 1:12-13
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 4
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

The gift of God is eternal life. And the word in John 4:14 that is translated "everlasting" is the same Greek word that also translates "eternal." Everlasting life is eternal life.

EVERYONE IS DEAD IN SINS UNTIL GOD GIVES THAT SINNER NEW LIFE:

Ephesians 2
1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved) 6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

1 John 4:16

If one of the attributes of God is unconditional love then why was that that the intention of God the Father the atonement of Jesus Christ is only efficacious for the elect,thereby leading them without fail to salvation?

1 John 4:16
16
So we have known and believe the love that God has for us.God is love,and those who abide in love abide in God,and God abides in them.

God saves. Man can't save himself.
