Who invented atheism?

Dunno. Was it you who invented a theism? And if so what theism did you invent and when did you invent it?

Just the name and dates.
An entity that uses the moniker "God" , and according to Bishop Ussher, on October 23, 4004 BCE [as based on the proleptic Julian calendar]:)

If, as some Christians believe, God created everything then God created the human capacity for thought and therefore the capacity for doubt in His/Its/Her existence.;)

This is like asking 'who invented a lack of belief in astrology?' Atheism is a lack of a belief in gods. The lack of belief in gods probably goes back to the beginning of recorded history - there have always been skeptics.

Hover, the term atheist probably dates back to about 500 BCE. It comes from the Greek term atheos ("without gods). It's modern use goes back to about the 16th century with the rise of critical thinking in the time of the French Revolution. The French were among the first to say they rejected the idea of royalty, gods, or any authority that could not be supported with critical thinking. They used the term atheist.

The modern New Atheist movement can be traced to 9/11. That is when many skeptics like Dawkins, Harris, and Hitchins started really pushing an atheist worldview. Their premise was that 9/11 proved that theism can make people do horrific things. So it inspired them to push critical thinking and atheism more aggressively.

I think hat is about right - I might have some details wrong. But no one person invented atheism - the term, and concept, grew over time like most other ideas.

Thanks for the question - that was fun to research :)

If the OP was asking who the first recorded atheists were*, he would find the answer in Wikipedia's article on the history of atheism.

"In the East, a contemplative life not centered on the idea of deities began in the sixth century BCE with the rise of Indian religions such as Jainism, Buddhism, and various sects of Hinduism in ancient India, and of Taoism in ancient China. Within the astika ("orthodox") schools of Hindu philosophy, the Samkhya and the early Mimamsa school did not accept a creator deity in their respective systems. [1]

"Philosophical atheist thought began to appear in Europe and Asia in the sixth or fifth century BCE."

* - He is of course not asking this, but what he is asking is very silly, so we might as well take the opportunity to learn something.

Can't cough up facts?
Where is your rant begging for censorship of people you can't agree with?

Wickie letcha down. They didn't mention "atheist."

Do you know any historians?

Who invented atheism? Satan?

who invented Satan?
Irrational atheist deflection.
You should have the answer.

John 8:44

King James Version

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

John 8:44

King James Version

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
King James isn't the author of the story.
