Why will I be going to hell?

For those who don't know, I'm an Orthodox Jew (you can check it out on my profile). Many a member here has informed me over the last two years that I will be going to hell. It has occurred to me that as Christians do not agree on many matters (as they say, "two Christians, thirty-thousand opinions"), perhaps they also do not agree on why exactly I will be going to hell.

So please, lay it on me: Do Christians who believe this agree on the exact reasoning? And if not, what arguments does one denomination have over the views of other denominations?

I would suggest you study the Old Testament prophecies regarding the Messiah; all were fulfilled by the Lord Jesus Christ. You should not be concerned about the 30000 various opinions; you need to be concerned about one thing only, the prophecies which point directly to your Messiah.

the First Exodus was the shadow or type of the true Exodus, that the Servant of The Lord accomplished once for all time;

The Blood of Jesus is the passover for all persons Jew or gentile now.
Jesus is our City of refuge, the manslayer is the torah....
Jesus has ascended to the Heavenly Zion and Jerusalem;
He speaks through His word; HEBREWS12;
22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

Earthly Jerusalem has no Holy Place, No High priest, No acceptable sacrifice.
It has moved from earthly and physical, to heavenly;
9 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.

The Ot. root gives way to the NT. fruit;

So you are unable to answer my question. I gather you don't think I'll be going to hell while remaining an Orthodox Jew? Thanks, appreciated. ;)

Jesus described it as "dying in your sins."

Luke 13:1 There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 And Jesus answered and said to them, "Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things?
3 "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
4 "Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish."

23 And He said to them, "You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.
24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." (Joh 8:23-24 NKJ)

It is the wages of sin that is death, spiritual death, which is experiencing the anger of God for having an attitude that dishonors what God values and displeases him.

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 6:23 NKJ)

8 "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." (Rev 21:8 NKJ)


So the reason one goes to hell is that throughout one's lifetime, due to being inherently imperfect because one is born incapable of sinlessness and inclined to desire sinful things, and various freewill choices to sin, one has trespassed against God's holy law to perfectly love him and do all that pleases him, but through deliberate acts and ignorance or inability.

These sins need to be atoned, that is, given somehow their just retribution and punishment in full, for them to be expiated, that is, removed or put away or cleansed. The NT declares the OT method of putting sins away was insufficient and inadequate:

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins. (Heb 10:4 NKJ)

Therefore, once Jesus had died for everyone's sins, we can access that atonement, or removal of sins, by putting our trust in Jesus and asking him to be our Savior.

Otherwise we will pay for our own sins with the unending wrath of God. Jesus "took the bullet" for us, but we have to accept it by our trust in him.
So the NT assumes that the only way to atone in the Torah is through blood. And if I told you that's not the case? Would I be able to atone my (the Jewish) way and be free of my hellish fate?

Thanks, but I'm not looking for how to prevent it. I plan on being an Orthodox Jew until my dying breath. What are your thoughts on the actual question in my OP?

Do you believe Jesus is the Messiah? If not, you will die in your sins.

Ironically, orthodox Jews and Christians are both looking for the coming of the exact same messiah, yet Christians claim that these very same orthodox Jews are going to hell. Go figure.
I don't think that we're waiting for the coming of the same messiah.
