As most of you are aware, we had a crash to forums and were down for over two days a while back. We did have to do an upgrade to the vbulletin software to fix the forums and that has created changes, VB no longer provide the hybrid or threaded forums. There are some issues/changes to the forums we are not able to fix or change. Also note the link address change, please let friends and posters know of the changed link to the forums. For now this is the only link available, https://forums.carm.org/vb5/ but if clicking on forum on carm.org homepage it will now send you to this link. (edited to add https: now working.

Again, we are working through some of the posting and viewing issues to learn how to post with the changes, you will have to check and test the different features, icons that have changed. You may also want to go to profile settings, since many of the notifications, information in profile, also to update/edit your avatar by clicking on avatar space, pull down arrow next to login for user settings.

Edit to add "How to read forums, to make it easier."
Pull down arrow next to login name upper right select profile, or user settings when page opens to profile, select link in tab that says Account. Then select/choose options, go down to Conversation Detail Options, Select Display mode Posts, NOT Activity, that selection of Posts will make the pages of discussions go to last post on last page rather than out of order that happens if you choose activity threads. Then be sure to go to bottom and select SAVE Changes in your profile options. You can then follow discussions by going through the pages, to the last page having latest responses. Then click on the other links Privacy, Notifications, to select viewing options, the forums get easier if you open all the tabs or links in your profile, user settings and select options. To join Super Member, pull down arrow next to login name, select User Settings and then click on tab/link at top that says Subscriptions.

Thank you for your patience and God Bless.

When I see the recent outburst of hate against the religious (I'm still mourning the death of the Jews massacred in Pittsburgh) this is why I think events like the joint prayer service with the Pope and the Lutherans in Switzerland on Reformation day is so very important. We slowly came out of an age where Protestants were slaughtering Catholics and Catholics were slaughtering Protestants. This video shows just how easily things can degrade back into that hateful mindset. Let's not kill each other. Let's not even shout profanities. In fact, lets join together in prayer.

Here is the other possibility -- hope for the future:

Sounds like one of your Catholic brethren going off about the "Traditional Mass."

In this case, a recent outburst BY a religious.

    LOL.

But to liken this to a mass murder is pathetic. Do Catholics demand this much attention?

We slowly came out of an age where Protestants were slaughtering Catholics and Catholics were slaughtering Protestants.
Your church did so in an official capacity....supposedly doing the will of God per their own wicked teaching.

Maybe that should have been one of your first clues that your denomination is not Christ's "one, true church."

This video shows just how easily things can degrade back into that hateful mindset.
You Catholics really hate one another. We see that on this very board....telling each other off and accusing each other of not being really really Catholic.

Let's not kill each other. Let's not even shout profanities. In fact, lets join together in prayer.

Here is the other possibility -- hope for the future:
Wow! More of that and you will have even more Catholics out for your blood!

I agree, OH. After 2000 years of Christian experience, there can be no doubt that those who treat others with kindness, gentleness, respect are the servants of the Lord and the ones who spew hatred, contempt with either words of actions 'in the name of God'.... are servants of Satan. It should be so clear to even the simplest of us through Scripture but human beings can twist the Word of God to suit their own darkness.

        +++edit++

And to call the Catholic who stormed the altar in the video a "servant of Satan" only increases the hostility and hatred between you Catholics. You just added to the fire while pretending to do otherwise.

Is the irony lost on you?

Yes. We all read your posts. We know.

It seems as if the man in the video was just mentally ill or otherwise agitated- certainly wasn't any kind of stable individual.

You'll have this kind of this in a public ceremony from time to time, its a little unsettling for about 20 seconds.

The RCC's inquisition is over, they probably just beat the crap out him with a large cross, smacked him in the head with a monstrance and shoved him in the dumpster in the back.

These folks at EWTN are Catholics, but there are also in Alabama where they don't put up with this kind of outburst.

Can you provide an example of Catholics slaughtering Protestants in an "official capacity"?

Is there a Papal bull ordering the slaughter of Protestants that I have missed?

Provide some kind of documentation for your completely false claim, or retract it.

Yes. The Catholic Church never killed anybody. It is all a figment of our imagination!

                  That could be the case.

Why do you suppose these Roman Catholics rush to scream persecution and "hate"? Instead of concern about someone who is ill, these types of Catholics are only concerned with themselves and throwing around accusations.

Some kind of paranoia I think. To assume this was a "hate" incident goes right along side all the "host desecrations" that RC's think are happening from "satanists" and/or "Jews".

OH made referenced the incident in the wider context of hatred based on religion. The responses here are nothing but guilty consciences trying to deflect.

Nope. OH referenced the incident as an act of HATE.

This man may be sick and need help, yet you Catholics want to make accusations against others. Instead of showing concern for this man's well being, all devout Catholics can do is make unfounded accusations and feel sorry for themselves.

What are we guilty of? Do you have more accusations dripping from your tongue?

I don't know any Christian or anyone else who ever went into an RCC sanctuary to disrupt a benediction, consecration or a novena. There is no reason to think that the man in the video was motivated by "hate" for the RCC at all, this is only being assumed.
