  • Roman Authority

The authority structure to which Roman Catholics submit themselves to is a system founded upon the RCC's own claim that God has appointed the bishops of the Roman Catholic Church as the successors of Christ's 12 apostles. The Church says that it's bishops have inherited from the apostles 3 exclusice rights:
    1. Sanctifying power
    2. Ruling power
    3. Teaching power

Roman Catholics must submit themselves to the bishop, who exercises these powers under the guidance of and in communion with whatever Roman Catholic pope is 'sitting in' for Jesus Christ at the time. Henceforth, the Roman Catholic pope takes the place of Jesus Christ according to Roman Catholic teaching and belief, thereby making him the visible Head, the High Priest, the Supreme Ruler and the Primary Teacher of the Faith of the Roman Catholic Church.

How would Jesus evaluate this Roman Catholic Church system today?
RC's do know God, but the Bible indicates that it is a knowledge in condemnation, a knowledge enabling them to know things about themselves and the world around them, even though they suppress the truth of God which makes such knowledge possible.

Oh He would give it a big, fat F. It is a big failure they have promoted false doctrines, allowed sexual sinners free reign, they have replaced Him in most ways with Mary and the saints.

LOL..... they gave their "authority" to themselves....... isn't dat special?
They actually believe that they have the ability to make the faithful holy. I wonder what Scripture verses they come up with to uphold their belief?

Oh let me see, it will be like the other threads. The pattern is answer a question with a question, then accuse others of not answering their questions, using verses out of context, divert, avoid and prematurely claiming victory.

Knowing the RCC, and the ways they have portrayed themselves, they would think that F meant that they 'Fullfilled' their responsibility, when in reality all the RCC has done is to indoctrinate Roman Catholics with the outright fib that God endowed the pope and all of his bishops in the RCC, with the gift of infallibility - simply meaning that the bishops, when acting together (as they did in covering up the rampant pedophilia in the RCC) are incapable of teaching error! They also ignorantly believe that the pope, even when he is acting alone, does NOT error, nor can he error!

LOL! RC's mindlessly believe that their worn-out patterns and their childish methods of avoidance and deception are virtually undetectable.

How could we know what Jesus's evaluation is since he is not physically present to tell us?

Well, the Pope the Vicar of Christ, is present; how would he evaluate RCC's inquisitions, tortures, murders, sex abuse, ...?

The question is how would Jesus evaluate the RCC system today? So are you accepting the Pope's evaluation with that of Christ's?

Checking out honesty of Pope Vicar of Christ since the only evidence of Christ's physical presence is his inpired word.

But you don't have anything from Christ himself.

no, that wasn't the question asked by peanut. re-read the above post.
