As most of you are aware, we had a crash to forums and were down for over two days a while back. We did have to do an upgrade to the vbulletin software to fix the forums and that has created changes, VB no longer provide the hybrid or threaded forums. There are some issues/changes to the forums we are not able to fix or change. Also note the link address change, please let friends and posters know of the changed link to the forums. For now this is the only link available, https://forums.carm.org/vb5/ but if clicking on forum on carm.org homepage it will now send you to this link. (edited to add https: now working.

Again, we are working through some of the posting and viewing issues to learn how to post with the changes, you will have to check and test the different features, icons that have changed. You may also want to go to profile settings, since many of the notifications, information in profile, also to update/edit your avatar by clicking on avatar space, pull down arrow next to login for user settings.

Edit to add "How to read forums, to make it easier."
Pull down arrow next to login name upper right select profile, or user settings when page opens to profile, select link in tab that says Account. Then select/choose options, go down to Conversation Detail Options, Select Display mode Posts, NOT Activity, that selection of Posts will make the pages of discussions go to last post on last page rather than out of order that happens if you choose activity threads. Then be sure to go to bottom and select SAVE Changes in your profile options. You can then follow discussions by going through the pages, to the last page having latest responses. Then click on the other links Privacy, Notifications, to select viewing options, the forums get easier if you open all the tabs or links in your profile, user settings and select options. To join Super Member, pull down arrow next to login name, select User Settings and then click on tab/link at top that says Subscriptions.

Thank you for your patience and God Bless.

1.Why does it mention paradise in both corinthians?.And when jesus is talking to the thief on the cross?

2.Also why does it mention hades in both the story of lazarus and the rich man?And in the book of revelations?

As recorded in Luke 23:43, Jesus assures that one of the criminals will be with Jesus in paradise - on that day. This assurance was provided because one criminal demonstrated his faith in Jesus for who He was. The other criminal was not provided any assurance and even demonstrated a lack of faith in Jesus.

A rich man's indifference to the plight of Lazarus' poverty was an expression of his evil lifestyle placing faith in his riches - alone. After they both died, the rich man was tormented in Hades; conversely, Lazarus is at God's side. The reference to Hades is integral to the account. The word is adequate and defined in Strong's G86.

        ............

The book, Revelation (singular) uses the word Hades in four verses:

" I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. " ( Revelation 1:18 )

" So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth. " ( Revelation 6:8 )

" The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. " ( Revelation 20:13 )

        and

" Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. " ( Revelation 20:14 )

The reference to Hades is integral to the text and the context is clear.

        Did my responses help?

"The exact sciences also start from the assumption that in the end it will always be possible to understand nature, even in every new field of experience, but that we make no a priori assumptions about the meaning of the word "understand"."

          .
Q: In standard Bibles; Jesus told one of his fellow prisoners that they would be in paradise the very day of their deaths (Luke 23:43). But three days later he told Mary Magdalena that he had not yet ascended to his Father (John 20:17). How do you reconcile Jesus' statements?

A: Well, of one thing we can be very certain: when Jesus died, he didn't go up; quite the opposite direction: he went down. (Matt 12:40, Ps 16:9-10, and Acts 2:25-31)

Paradise is structured such that it exists in more than one place; for example:

The Pacific Crest Trail (a.k.a. PCT) traverses the north/south length of three states-- California, Oregon, and Washington. No matter where trekkers might be located on the trail at any given moment-- whether south at mile No.1 in Campo San Diego, or 2,140 trail-miles to the north at the Columbia River in Cascade Locks Oregon --they're all on the very same PCT.

Paradise is sort of like that. There's a section of it in the netherworld (Luke 16:19-31) another in a celestial region that Paul labeled the third heaven (2Cor 12:2-4) and yet another is located with God up in very heaven itself. (Rev 2:7)
