As most of you are aware, we had a crash to forums and were down for over two days a while back. We did have to do an upgrade to the vbulletin software to fix the forums and that has created changes, VB no longer provide the hybrid or threaded forums. There are some issues/changes to the forums we are not able to fix or change. Also note the link address change, please let friends and posters know of the changed link to the forums. For now this is the only link available, https://forums.carm.org/vb5/ but if clicking on forum on carm.org homepage it will now send you to this link. (edited to add https: now working.

Again, we are working through some of the posting and viewing issues to learn how to post with the changes, you will have to check and test the different features, icons that have changed. You may also want to go to profile settings, since many of the notifications, information in profile, also to update/edit your avatar by clicking on avatar space, pull down arrow next to login for user settings.

Edit to add "How to read forums, to make it easier."
Pull down arrow next to login name upper right select profile, or user settings when page opens to profile, select link in tab that says Account. Then select/choose options, go down to Conversation Detail Options, Select Display mode Posts, NOT Activity, that selection of Posts will make the pages of discussions go to last post on last page rather than out of order that happens if you choose activity threads. Then be sure to go to bottom and select SAVE Changes in your profile options. You can then follow discussions by going through the pages, to the last page having latest responses. Then click on the other links Privacy, Notifications, to select viewing options, the forums get easier if you open all the tabs or links in your profile, user settings and select options. To join Super Member, pull down arrow next to login name, select User Settings and then click on tab/link at top that says Subscriptions.

Thank you for your patience and God Bless.

  • Does anyone want to share their original artwork?

If someone posts something in this thread, it is considered copyrighted automatically since the thread title says "Does anyone want to share their original artwork?"
So please don't repost anything from this thread--out of respect for the artist/owner.

You might be thinking "Cool, I want to add this to Instagram" but please don't (or at least please ask the artist for permission)
I, for one, do not want, nor will allow any of my original art to be copied and posted anywhere else.

Thanks in advance for understanding and cooperating.
Not sure what I could really do about it--but please let's use the honor system.

Lastly, please don't post something and say you did it, if it's not your original artwork. You won't impress people in cyberspace you'll never meet anyway

Please keep it civil too.. people work hard on their artwork--try not to make fun of people.. I've seen a lot of million dollar paintings that I'm sure my dog could paint with only minimal assistance and a few milkbones.

    So? Let's see 'em!
I may go first... (or I might wait to see if it catches on)

Just so I understand.. I have 11 images to post.. a few of them are 3 of the same piece of art, just part of it is zoomed in on to see detail etc..
Does that mean to make 5 or 6 threads?
      I'm a little confused.

Or are you saying just pick my 2 fav ones and let that be it?
I don't understand the tight restrictions. (Not arguing, I'm trying to understand).
Do most people hate seeing pictures? This is in the General Lifestyle area--is that the main issue?
Help me out (I'm not the smartest person in the world)

Is there a suggestion area? Where one could suggest a thread with the ability for everyone to post several pictures? I don't understand the point of taking all the fun away from an "art thread" by quickly stating "2 pics only, super members, and it must be "G" rated or you will be banned" Inappropriate sounds very subjective, and I would not risk being banned from the site just because some mod thought my picture was "inappropriate".

Disregard.. I am not even going to attempt it.. all the fun has been zapped from this whole idea.

I think I'll go break something in the garage instead.

No, I would never sell any of my artwork.
In fact you bring up a good topic to discuss-- would you sell your artwork?
Everything I make is a "one off"
So if I sold it, I would no longer have it. And I would be sad. I have given artwork to family members and I don't know if they kept it and hung it up, or threw it away, and that makes me sad to think about.
So no.. I would not be promoting my artwork.

My art is for discussion starters.. I would love to display my art somewhere, at an exhibit or something, and then talk to the people walking by and looking at it.

PS: Christian to Christian, what you said is offensive. What I've noticed on CARM, is that Christians get so used to arguing with other Christians about trivial matters such as pre-trib/mid-trib/post-trib, that they get used to talking to their brethren like dirt.
I know if we were standing in my driveway, and we were both Christian neighbors, you'd never just come right out and accuse me of doing something nefarious simply because I asked if you had done any original artwork.
But whatever! It's all good, I forgive you!
