As most of you are aware, we had a crash to forums and were down for over two days a while back. We did have to do an upgrade to the vbulletin software to fix the forums and that has created changes, VB no longer provide the hybrid or threaded forums. There are some issues/changes to the forums we are not able to fix or change. Also note the link address change, please let friends and posters know of the changed link to the forums. For now this is the only link available, https://forums.carm.org/vb5/ but if clicking on forum on carm.org homepage it will now send you to this link. (edited to add https: now working.

Again, we are working through some of the posting and viewing issues to learn how to post with the changes, you will have to check and test the different features, icons that have changed. You may also want to go to profile settings, since many of the notifications, information in profile, also to update/edit your avatar by clicking on avatar space, pull down arrow next to login for user settings.

Edit to add "How to read forums, to make it easier."
Pull down arrow next to login name upper right select profile, or user settings when page opens to profile, select link in tab that says Account. Then select/choose options, go down to Conversation Detail Options, Select Display mode Posts, NOT Activity, that selection of Posts will make the pages of discussions go to last post on last page rather than out of order that happens if you choose activity threads. Then be sure to go to bottom and select SAVE Changes in your profile options. You can then follow discussions by going through the pages, to the last page having latest responses. Then click on the other links Privacy, Notifications, to select viewing options, the forums get easier if you open all the tabs or links in your profile, user settings and select options. To join Super Member, pull down arrow next to login name, select User Settings and then click on tab/link at top that says Subscriptions.

Thank you for your patience and God Bless.

      Pablum

Pablum cereal carton (center), circa 1935
Pablum is a processed cereal for infants originally marketed by the Mead Johnson Company in 1931. The trademarked name is a contracted form of the Latin word pabulum, which means "foodstuff". The name had long been used in botany and medicine to refer to nutrition or substances of which the nutritive elements are passively absorbed.

The word can also refer to something that is bland, mushy, unappetizing, or infantile.

      Just saying ....

Acts 26:24 That was too much for Festus. He interrupted with a shout: “Paul, you’re crazy! You’ve read too many books, spent too much time staring off into space! Get a grip on yourself, get back in the real world!”

2 Timothy 4:9-13 Get here as fast as you can. Demas, chasing fads, went off to Thessalonica and left me here. Crescens is in Galatia province, Titus in Dalmatia. Luke is the only one here with me. Bring Mark with you; he’ll be my right-hand man since I’m sending Tychicus to Ephesus. Bring the winter coat I left in Troas with Carpus; also the books and parchment notebooks.
Deuteronomy 6:4. Hear, O Israel: The LORD [Jehovah] your God [Elohim] is one LORD [Jehovah].

The Bible says "Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves!" (2 Cor. 13:5). Well, are you in the faith? Have you examined yourself? It is easy to ask and sometimes difficult to answer. The Christian faith is as follows. There is one God in all existence who is eternally existent from the past through to the future. God is a Trinity of three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (2 Cor. 13:14); they are not three gods, but one God (Is. 44:6-8). Jesus is the Word who was God and was with God that became flesh (John 1:1,14) and was made under the Law (Gal. 4:4). Because we are sinners (Rom. 3:23), who have broken God's law (James 2:11), and because we cannot be saved in anyway by our own works (Rom. 4:1-5), Jesus bore our sins in His body on the cross (1 Pet. 2:24), died, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Cor. 15:3-4), in the same body He died in (John 2:19-21) so that as many as receive Christ (John 1:12) are justified by faith (Rom. 5:1) and escape the righteous wrath of God (Rom. 5:9). What a lot of people fail to realize is that Jesus is not saving us from sin. Jesus is saving us from God! You see, when a person breaks the Law of God, there is a punishment that must be carried out upon that person. God is the one who carries out that punishment. This punishment is eternal because God is eternally holy and righteous. Our sins against God take on an infinite quality not because of who we are, but because of who God is -- because we have offended an eternal and infinite God. Therefore, the sinner incurs an eternal and infinite offense against God. This means there is absolutely no way that a finite, sinful creature can undo the offense against an infinitely pure Being. This is why we need Jesus who is God in flesh. This means that His sacrifice has eternal and infinite value and it is infinitely sufficient to save us from our sins. Therefore, this means that it is only through Jesus that we can be saved and not by our own efforts in any way. It is God who damns. It is God who judges. Sin does not send people to hell. God does. Of course, this is not a popular or "feel-good" notion that God is the one who is righteously judging the sinner and righteously condemning him to eternal hell. But, that is the truth. Yet, thanks be to God that because He loves us, He sent His son to save us from our sins so that we might escape the righteous judgment of God. God is not some eternal ogre waiting to spit His wrath upon the weak and helpless. Not at all. He is loving and good and gracious and He desires that all be saved. He offers the sacrifice of His Son as the loving and gracious means by which we may be saved. It is a miraculous and wondrous act of love. Now, what about you? Have you completely trusted in Jesus and in nothing else for the forgiveness of your sins? Have you received Christ? Are you relying on Jesus and Him alone for your righteousness, for your safety, your forgiveness, or are you putting even the smallest bit of your works before God as part of the reason you are to be saved? If you are relying in anyway on your efforts, then you are in great danger of damnation, if you're saved at all. Righteousness before God does not come by your efforts, but through the sacrifice of Christ; otherwise, Jesus died needlessly (Gal. 2:21). If you could get to heaven by being good, then there was no need for Jesus to die for sins. You are to examine yourself, to test yourself to see if you are in the faith. This means that you must first know what the Christian faith is and what it means that to enter into that faith. Furthermore, you must know and acknowledge that there is only one God in all existence, that Jesus is God in flesh, that you are a sinner, that you need to repent of your sins, and that the only way to find forgiveness is to trust in Jesus alone, by faith alone, through grace alone. Don't waste any time wondering. If you aren't sure, ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins (1 Cor. 1:2). Receive Him (John 1:12). Turn from your sins and to Him. Trust Him alone.

The truth is that SDA's reject Jesus Christ as their Saviour the moment they ADD the Sabbath and their life's work to faith alone. Eternal life is a "gift" (Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." A gift cannot have any strings attached otherwise it was never a gift to begin with. A gift simply needs to be received. If any Hell-deserving sinner will simply receive Jesus Christ as his Saviour, then he will be saved, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" -Romans 10:13. In addition, Ellen G. White is without a doubt the most predominant figure within SDA. There is an entire website dedicated to exposing her. SDA's elevate the writing of this foolish women to the level of the Bible. SDA's have a corrupted view of prophecy, akin to the demonic heresies of the Jehovah Witnesses. SDA's believe that the Lord began has work of "investigative judgment" in 1844. This doctrine was originally concocted as an attempt to avoid public embarrassment when their prediction that Christ would return failed. Yes, the SDA's set a date for Christ's return and He didn't return. So they set another date, and He still didn't return. Looking like idiots, they claimed that they had made a mistake, saying that Jesus had entered into the Holy of Holies in Heaven instead. By the way, the Branch Davidian cult (leader: David Koresh) in Waco, Texas was an offshoot of Seventh-Day Adventism. So for the sake of consistency, SDA's should never eat any bacon or ham, right? Just as with all false religions, it is hypocrisy.

Mrs. White's prophecies which are clearly wrong:
                  • Jerusalem's Future: Mrs. White will be alive when Jesus returns
                  • England will attack the United States (1862)
                  • The Civil War is a sign Jesus is about to return
                  • In 1850's Mrs. White said Jesus will return "in a few months"
                  • Adventists living in 1856 will be alive when Jesus returns
                  • Mrs. White saw Enoch on Jupiter or Saturn
                  Deuteronomy

18:20-22. This scripture teaches that a prophet must be tested by checking his prophecies. Deut. 13:1-4 "If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, "and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, 'Let us go after other gods'-- which you have not known--' and let us serve them,'3 "you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the LORD your God is testing you to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.4 "You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him."

Christ had said no one would know the time of his return "no one knows the day or hour" (Matthew 24:36; Mark 13:32). This is a Jewish idiom that means one cannot predict with any accuracy when he will come back. This in the Greek tense that means no man will ever know,
                  only the Father knows
, it is reserved for him alone. This doesn’t stop numerous people from saying that they DO know. They do this by playing word games such as the word ‘know’ does not mean what it says or they just ignore this warning. By doing this they fall right into the category of a false predictor of the times, what Jesus called a false prophet.

The true plan of salvation is much different than presented by Ellen G. White! It is concisely stated in the Bible as repentance towards God and faith in Christ Jesus (Acts 20:21). We are to produce fruit in keeping with repentance (Mt. 3:8) and prove our repentance by our deeds (Acts 26:20). To "repent" means to turn from your evil ways (Mt. 12:41 cf. Jonah 3:10). Every tree that does not bring forth good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire (Mt. 3:10; 7:19). The
Lord Jesus also taught the road to life is "hard" and only a "few" will find it (Mt. 7:13,14, NKJV). The Lord declared there that there are ONLY 2 gates, 2 roads, 2 groups of people and 2 eternal destinies. So don't follow the crowd, since they are on their way to eternal fire, even though they might not know it.
Moreover, many get saved, but afterwards fall away (Lk. 8:13; Jn. 6:66; 1 Tim. 1:19; etc.). In other words, after initial salvation we must endure to the "end" to enter the kingdom of God and escape the lake of fire (Mt. 10:22; Heb. 3:14; Rev. 2:10,11). Eternal life comes to the repentant the moment such believe on Jesus for salvation (Jn. 3:16; 6:47; 1 Jn. 5:12,13), but there is another important aspect of eternal life that many are totally unaware of in our day because of a different false teaching which is commonly called "once saved always saved." According to true, Biblical, grace teaching, eternal life is also a HOPE (Titus 3:7), yet to be REAPED (Gal. 6:8,9) in the AGE TO COME (Mk. 10:30) for only the ones who PERSIST IN DOING GOOD (Rom. 2:7) and DO NOT GROW WEARY AND GIVE UP (Gal. 6:9).
Also, remember this: If a saved person sows to please his sinful nature he'll die spiritually (Rom. 8:13; Gal. 6:8,9). The prodigal is a clear example of this (Lk. 15:24,32). The end result of sin is spiritual death. DO NOT BE DECEIVED by the "once saved, always saved" teachers (James 1:14-16). We must continue to believe (TRUST) on Jesus for our soul's salvation to enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus described his "sheep" as his "followers" (John 10:27). James stated that faith without works is "dead" (James 2:17). [For more information about the teaching of once saved always saved consult our 801 page NO eternal security book entitled: The Believer's Conditional Security. It is available in softback, hardback and voice book.]
In conclusion, Jesus successfully destroyed the devil's work (1 John 3:8). He is the resurrected "Lord of glory" (1 Cor. 2:8), before whom every knee will bow and every tongue confess that he is Lord (Phil. 2:9-11). Jesus has the ONLY name in which salvation is found (Acts 4:12), is the ONLY mediator between God and man (1 Tim. 2:5) and is the judge of the living and the dead (Acts 10:42; 2 Tim. 4:1; 1 Pet. 4:5). He also bore our sins (2 Cor. 5:21). Moreover, Jesus Christ is NOT Michael the archangel! We are advised in Scripture to go directly to Him for forgiveness and to TRUST in Him alone for our soul's salvation.
