As most of you are aware, we had a crash to forums and were down for over two days a while back. We did have to do an upgrade to the vbulletin software to fix the forums and that has created changes, VB no longer provide the hybrid or threaded forums. There are some issues/changes to the forums we are not able to fix or change. Also note the link address change, please let friends and posters know of the changed link to the forums. For now this is the only link available, https://forums.carm.org/vb5/ but if clicking on forum on carm.org homepage it will now send you to this link. (edited to add https: now working.

Again, we are working through some of the posting and viewing issues to learn how to post with the changes, you will have to check and test the different features, icons that have changed. You may also want to go to profile settings, since many of the notifications, information in profile, also to update/edit your avatar by clicking on avatar space, pull down arrow next to login for user settings.

Edit to add "How to read forums, to make it easier."
Pull down arrow next to login name upper right select profile, or user settings when page opens to profile, select link in tab that says Account. Then select/choose options, go down to Conversation Detail Options, Select Display mode Posts, NOT Activity, that selection of Posts will make the pages of discussions go to last post on last page rather than out of order that happens if you choose activity threads. Then be sure to go to bottom and select SAVE Changes in your profile options. You can then follow discussions by going through the pages, to the last page having latest responses. Then click on the other links Privacy, Notifications, to select viewing options, the forums get easier if you open all the tabs or links in your profile, user settings and select options. To join Super Member, pull down arrow next to login name, select User Settings and then click on tab/link at top that says Subscriptions.

Thank you for your patience and God Bless.

  • Losing my job soon

I'd appreciate any prayers concerning finding a job in the near future. I've got a child due soon and another turning 4 with me and their mother both losing our jobs at the same time. I'm already putting in applications like a madman, but it's tough with nearly every place hiring IT people or even sales floor personel just directing you to their website that only allows for you to apply for jobs already open. I know a few people in town and will be seeing them face to face about it ASAP. Anyway, I'm pretty confident that God will not let my family starve, but I'd appreciate any help I can get (including job offers, though moving is something I would REALLY rather not do.)

I made the Logically STUPID decision back in '59, since I was a high school dropout, to go into engineering with an R&D/product design flavor, in an America that's always been HOSTILE to private development. But In '69, I became an engineer, and have been a chief engineer, or manager of engineering ever since up to the present. I've changed jobs many times, and changed locations often also - from Massachusetts, to Dallas by way of Beloit Wisconsin, Rockford Illinois, St Mary's Ohio, Marion Ohio, Columbus, Ohio, CLeveland, Ohio, and Saline, Michigan. Relocating is really interesting, when you know the Lord's in it.

God knows exactly where you are, and He knows where your next job is, and He'll get you together with it. according to Romans 8:28-30

I am so sorry to hear this.
Of course, my precious Brother...you and your family will be in my prayers.
God Who was made flesh for me and nailed upon a lonely tree
What gift can I bring that would suffice to repay such great sacrifice?
All that I am I lay at Your throne. Make me, Lord, Your very Own.

Check with Catholic Family Services. They help people in your situation.

Preferably entry level IT work, but I also have sales experience in home electronics and appliances. The probelm with those jobs is that all the home appliance and electronics businesses are on the verge of going under here in town. I'm out of the loop a bit on web design and the like, but I can do that as well. At the moment I'd take anything that doesn't require a great deal of training or extra schooling as just about anything over minimum wage at least keeps my family fed and the lights on.

I am kinda in a weird place where the startup I work for is either gonna need to hire a bunch of new people and change the automotive industry or not and I'll need to look for another job soon too. I hope you find something soon! Would you like me to drop you a line if we need more people? It wouldn't be for at least a couple months. I was hired by the engineer who invented the system and have a lot of respect for the guy.

I'm hoping that won't be at all necessary as I really don't have the ability to move right now without a great deal of trouble and expense. It's possible I could get on with the local business IT firm in town. I've already been studying up on my networking know-how again to prep for it, so we'll see how it goes. It actually pays quite a lot more than my old job, and it's doing exactly what I want to do, so it's pretty much my dream job. I didn't even know they were hiring.

I received an email today from our Governor Doug Ducey. Raytheon is opening a new plant in the Tuscan area. These are very high paying jobs according to the ad.
It is fundamentally necessary and healthy for Christians to acknowledge that God foreknows nothing uncertainly, but that He foresees, purposes, and does all things according to His own immutable, eternal and infallible will. This bombshell knocks "free-will" flat…

I got a call back yesterday to set up an in-person interview with a practical test involved in it. Been studying ridiculously for it, so I sure hope I do well. We will see. I go in tomorrow at 1.

That's what I did to keep my career going too. Wherever the job was located, that is where I resided. I realize many people cannot live well that way, but the flexibility worked for me.
