As most of you are aware, we had a crash to forums and were down for over two days a while back. We did have to do an upgrade to the vbulletin software to fix the forums and that has created changes, VB no longer provide the hybrid or threaded forums. There are some issues/changes to the forums we are not able to fix or change. Also note the link address change, please let friends and posters know of the changed link to the forums. For now this is the only link available, https://forums.carm.org/vb5/ but if clicking on forum on carm.org homepage it will now send you to this link. (edited to add https: now working.

Again, we are working through some of the posting and viewing issues to learn how to post with the changes, you will have to check and test the different features, icons that have changed. You may also want to go to profile settings, since many of the notifications, information in profile, also to update/edit your avatar by clicking on avatar space, pull down arrow next to login for user settings.

Edit to add "How to read forums, to make it easier."
Pull down arrow next to login name upper right select profile, or user settings when page opens to profile, select link in tab that says Account. Then select/choose options, go down to Conversation Detail Options, Select Display mode Posts, NOT Activity, that selection of Posts will make the pages of discussions go to last post on last page rather than out of order that happens if you choose activity threads. Then be sure to go to bottom and select SAVE Changes in your profile options. You can then follow discussions by going through the pages, to the last page having latest responses. Then click on the other links Privacy, Notifications, to select viewing options, the forums get easier if you open all the tabs or links in your profile, user settings and select options. To join Super Member, pull down arrow next to login name, select User Settings and then click on tab/link at top that says Subscriptions.

Thank you for your patience and God Bless.

  • A certain atheist poster will answer all the questions

Since he's been very assiduous at insisting that his questions and his questions alone be answered, I've long since ceased answering his questions.
not because I don't like answering questions, but because he's fought so hard to avoid taking any time to answer questions.

So.... the next several posts will include 2 links to the search results.
I'm taking this all the way back to January 2013, since I started on the forum in November 2012.

Recognizing that there have been a few hacks, lost data, and whatever else is lost.

Whatever remains, I'll post the links.

I'm confident that the poster in question is more than capable of handling the search results.

from my observations of all the forum's users, even newcomers can handle this.

these 2 results have 4 posts between them.

Considering that I recall having a good 300-400 posts by this year's end, it's pretty clear a lot was lost.
these two results encompass the entire year of 2013.

Apparently I'm limited to 2 links per post.

God is real. He can be known. You only cheat yourself by giving what you call reasons, and are nothing more than excuses. There's an old saying:
an excuse is nothing more than a skin of reason, over a skeleton of lies.

it appears that there's a limit of 500 posts maximum, so I'll be shortening the time periods.

Plenty more where these came from.

So far there's over 3000 posts available for answering questions.

This is not quite right. This question, asked in reply to you saying...
"do what Jesus said to do"
            ...the question being...
"What exactly did Jesus say to do and how did doing it show you God to exist?"
...has been asked by others before me, and you've never answered it, not for those who asked it before me nor when I've asked it. Your excuse here as to why you won't answer this key question doesn't wash.

I followed the first two links, they didn't go to posts of yours with questions, but to posts with statements.

If you would like to start an OP to ask atheists any question you like I'm sure you'd get replies, but I don't think it's reasonable to expect anyone to trawl through your posting history looking for any question you might have asked that didn't receive an answer. Your first link was a wild goose chase, i suspect the others are also.

If you can't be bothered to single out an unanswered question of yours, it can't be that important to you. It seems you are just wanting further excuse not to answer relevant questions put to you.

There is a long history of this persons assiduous commitment to charging others as "never answering the questions", or derivatives thereof.

There is no ceremony for receiving the charge, but to just be aware you are in indiscriminate company.

Yes, because there's a long history of Christians here not answering questions.

You have a long history of not answering questions that would expose your worldview as false. I've noticed you doing it again today.

                      You first.

You were the one who just the other day posted an incredibly well-developed prose on the importance of answering questions, and how doing so increased understanding and perspective.

                      Have you forgotten already?
I was thoroughly astonished at how well thought out it was. Probably thoroughly impressed would be a better way to state it.

Are you actually going to ignore this opportunity to engage in answering questions about your beliefs and throw away the perfect opportunity to help your listeners understand you?
                      Seriously?

Oh, I just used the advanced search engine on the forum to locate just my posts since January 1, 2013 .

I'd tried to get just questions in the past using it but it doesn't recognize the question mark as a search criteria.
So I focused on my posts.

I'm trying to figure out whether there's any way to tell the difference between a pathological narcissist and a deliberate troll in a case like this. The pathological narcissist will say to himself something like, "I know I'm right about having posted profound and searching questions which my enemies fled before in fear, because that's how great I am. So if I simply present a list of all My posts, it will certainly contain such devastating questions. Let my enemies find them themselves, it's beneath my dignity to do such work."

The deliberate troll will present the same list, saying to himself "won't it be fun to watch everybody waste their time over such an obviously ridiculous task, or try to demonstrate the fact that the task is ridiculous in the face of my continued pretense not to understand that self-evident fact!"

Maybe it's a kind of variation on Poe's Law.

ETA after Steve's last: You know the joke about how if you ask certain people the time, they'll tell you how to make a watch? In Steve's case, it's more that if you ask him for the time, he'll provide you with a series of links to what he promises contain instructions on how to build a watch, but which turn out to be hundreds of pages of copies of ads for watch sales.
I promise that if you treat me as a reasonable person -- someone who is open to good arguments and clear explanations -- I will treat you as one in return.

If, on the other hand, you don't consider me a reasonable person, why would you want to talk to me, and why would I want to listen to you?

WiF, you have plenty of posts to demonstrate that you are actually serious about answering questions about your beliefs and ideas.

Even if there's only 10% of my posts that have questions, that's 400 questions.
