  • We Believe That We Can't Be Wrong

One of my all time favorite songs from one of my all time favorite albums by one of my all time favorite artists:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8pulOnIE5Q

    Here are the lyrics:

    "Speed along the highway,
Honey, i want it my way.
But listen to her daddy's song,
    Don't stay out too long.
    Oo, we're just busy hiding,
Sitting in the back seat of my car.

Looking for a ride and all about,
Looking for a ride in and out of town,
    Strolling around and all about,
Looking for a ride in and out of...

    The laser lights are pretty,
We may end up in mexico city.
But listen to her daddy's song,
    Making love is wrong.
    Oo, we're just busy riding,
Sitting in the back seat of my car.

    Oh,oh,....
    Pah-pah-pah-pah-pah-pah,
    Pah-pah-pah-pah-pah-pah-pah.
    For we was only hiding,
Sitting in the back seat of my car.

    Yeah, .

    And when we finished driving,
We can say we were late in arriving.
And listen to her daddy's song,
We believe that we can't be wrong, yeah!

Oh-oh, we believe that we can't be wrong,
Oh-oh, we believe that we can't be wrong,
We can make it to mexico city,
Sitting in the back seat of my car.
    Oh,oh,...

Oh-oh, we believe that we can't be wrong,
Oh-oh, we believe that we can't be wrong,
Oh-oh, we believe that we can't be wrong,
Oh-oh, we believe that we can't be wrong,
Oh-oh, we believe that we can't be wrong,
Oh-oh, we believe that we can't be wrong,
    No, no, no, ...
We believe we can't be wrong,
    Yeah! yeah! yeah!
    Oh-oh, oh-oh, yeah, oh, yeah."

I can't believe this never occurred to me until now, but Paul McCartney is clearly describing the born again experience!

What do my fellow atheists say?

    What say you, CARM Christians?
I don't believe that God exists, but I may be wrong...
I believe that God, as described in scripture, is immoral, but I may be wrong...
Is it possible that you may be wrong?

What "thinking" little man wants to argue and try to judge Almighty God and try to match his little brainpower with Almighty God's who created him??

That is how they shake their fist in God's face.

God has been so good to us last week.

The little drummer boy is so poor and loves Jesus. But he has a drum and a tune.

      \\

My wife and I had two children. They started school and she was going back to work. Then God dropped another blessing on us . An unusual little son. He learned to sing. He sang himself to sleep. His voice improved. How can you imagine a child always singing? Sang till he fell asleep.

All he had to give was a song. His chorale has sung in Carnegie Hall twice when he was a teen. A capella. His symphony offering is his violin. His University classes are teaching upper level math to MBA students and engineers in gradschool. His second doctorate will be Chemistry.

      God doesn't make mistakes.

        Ooh, ooh, I do!

My "little" brainpower questions how God's "infinite" brainpower can't figure out how to govern man without needlessly causing man to suffer...

        However, this is off topic

        On topic:
        Do you know the song?
Did you listen to the song?
Did you read the lyrics to the song?
Do you hear the song as an apt description of Christianity?

Wake up!!! God gave man rule here on earth! Little man chose to live in sin and reject God and then the typical little sin lover wants to turn and try to blame God!!! Dream on!!

Woke up, fell out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up, I noticed I was late

Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
And somebody spoke and I went into a dream

What does this even mean, James?

So you don't even know the song?

How about "I'm ignorant, please help me"

I'm sure you can drive from Douglas AZ to Mexico City, whether you make it there or not, is the question.

I know the song very well, thanks
I am fully aware that the lyric includes a line about Mexico City
I would like very much to visit Mexico City, myself
Though I would prefer to fly there rather than drive there...

What I don't know is what you meant by:
"I triple dog dare ya to drive to Mexico City." in response to my OP

                    Explain yourself, James

I (meaning me) triple dog dare (the highest dare of all) you (meaning you) to drive to Mexico City (meaning get in your car and drive there).

Regarding your OP, it is stupid. You post a song by a crappy band, and won't even drive to Mexico City.

No, James, the OP isn't stupid
                        Your response was stupid
                        Literally, stupid
It makes no sense - it was just a dumb remark all the way around
You're probably feeling embarrassed right now and that is why you are lashing out
Just take a deep breath and ask yourself what Jesus would do...?

By the way, Paul McCartney is NOT a band
RAM is credited to Paul and Linda McCartney
                        {a few keyboards, some backing vocals, and a smattering of "oohs" and "aahs" being sufficient for Paul to credit Linda}
Paul and Linda McCartney is NOT a band either
Nor has Paul McCartney EVER been involved in a "crappy" band

And as far as me driving to Mexico City - again, what are you going on about?

So prove god does not exist and prove god is immoral - then you will know you are right.
