As most of you are aware, we had a crash to forums and were down for over two days a while back. We did have to do an upgrade to the vbulletin software to fix the forums and that has created changes, VB no longer provide the hybrid or threaded forums. There are some issues/changes to the forums we are not able to fix or change. Also note the link address change, please let friends and posters know of the changed link to the forums. For now this is the only link available, https://forums.carm.org/vb5/ but if clicking on forum on carm.org homepage it will now send you to this link. (edited to add https: now working.

Again, we are working through some of the posting and viewing issues to learn how to post with the changes, you will have to check and test the different features, icons that have changed. You may also want to go to profile settings, since many of the notifications, information in profile, also to update/edit your avatar by clicking on avatar space, pull down arrow next to login for user settings.

Edit to add "How to read forums, to make it easier."
Pull down arrow next to login name upper right select profile, or user settings when page opens to profile, select link in tab that says Account. Then select/choose options, go down to Conversation Detail Options, Select Display mode Posts, NOT Activity, that selection of Posts will make the pages of discussions go to last post on last page rather than out of order that happens if you choose activity threads. Then be sure to go to bottom and select SAVE Changes in your profile options. You can then follow discussions by going through the pages, to the last page having latest responses. Then click on the other links Privacy, Notifications, to select viewing options, the forums get easier if you open all the tabs or links in your profile, user settings and select options. To join Super Member, pull down arrow next to login name, select User Settings and then click on tab/link at top that says Subscriptions.

Thank you for your patience and God Bless.

He is finally standing in front of his maker, hope he has a good explanation. He may not recognize God, but God knows of him. God have mercy on his soul.
The purpose of my posts are not to cause bicker or division, but to show truth from the scripture for edifying of the soul. It does not matter what we think, it is what God's Word says that matters.

n>Oh, and let's not forget his amazing, wonderful classic:

Hawking, Stephen, and Mlodinow, Leonard. The Grand Design. Bantam Books, NY. 2010

I sure hope all of you have access to that classic. For many months I have encouraged everyone to get a copy or run down to your library, or borrow a copy from a friend. As far as I know, only one of my atheist pals here committed to getting her copy. Then she asked for time to study it, since she was very busy. Later, our friend, for whatever reason, stopped posting. I had so much wanted to have a wee discussion. Oh, and then there was that theoretical physicist so-called who attacked me because I did not understand Hawking's statement. I admitted I did not understand Hawking's ridiculous pronouncements, but wanted a really smart, honest, theoretical physicist to explain it. Such a one changed the topic, imagine that! Since then, the quote -- and book -- serve as a sort of garland of garlic. All vampires -- sorry, theoretical voodoo doctors -- seem repelled. Have some garlic, Hawking Cling-ons:

"… ... Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing… ... Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist…... It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the universe going…” ..." pp 5-10ff

Rather at the last moment he did, that is for God to know, for unless he confessed Christ before he seen what was behind door #1, there is no hope now. I pray for all souls that are still on earth to come to Christ, but death is final... we can only hope he did.

Might I add to my post in # 6 as being allowed to see what is behind curtain #1 before we decide rather to choose it.
You must choose Christ first because you believe without seeing, before you pass on, and await the next life that will be according to how you spiritually left this one. Outward riches or beauty or worldly wisdom will not save your soul.

                  He died on Pi day.

Even when suffering with ALS, and taking an hour to write a single sentence, he loved working through nearly intractable physics while having a staff of nurses ready to help him.

He is an inspiration for people that also have tough lives. A physicist's physicist.

How true since many humans believe that God created man with free will. If that is the case they are doomed and robots might as well rule the world!
