As most of you are aware, we had a crash to forums and were down for over two days a while back. We did have to do an upgrade to the vbulletin software to fix the forums and that has created changes, VB no longer provide the hybrid or threaded forums. There are some issues/changes to the forums we are not able to fix or change. Also note the link address change, please let friends and posters know of the changed link to the forums. For now this is the only link available, https://forums.carm.org/vb5/ but if clicking on forum on carm.org homepage it will now send you to this link. (edited to add https: now working.

Again, we are working through some of the posting and viewing issues to learn how to post with the changes, you will have to check and test the different features, icons that have changed. You may also want to go to profile settings, since many of the notifications, information in profile, also to update/edit your avatar by clicking on avatar space, pull down arrow next to login for user settings.

Edit to add "How to read forums, to make it easier."
Pull down arrow next to login name upper right select profile, or user settings when page opens to profile, select link in tab that says Account. Then select/choose options, go down to Conversation Detail Options, Select Display mode Posts, NOT Activity, that selection of Posts will make the pages of discussions go to last post on last page rather than out of order that happens if you choose activity threads. Then be sure to go to bottom and select SAVE Changes in your profile options. You can then follow discussions by going through the pages, to the last page having latest responses. Then click on the other links Privacy, Notifications, to select viewing options, the forums get easier if you open all the tabs or links in your profile, user settings and select options. To join Super Member, pull down arrow next to login name, select User Settings and then click on tab/link at top that says Subscriptions.

Thank you for your patience and God Bless.

  • Yes Virginia, Huawei 5G is a Bid Deal - - and not in a good way

The problem with letting Huawei roll out their 5G network and place their equipment in any country in the world, is that it will be at the heart of the heart of the heart of communications and infrastructure. 5G will control diver-less cars, power grids, and "secure communications."

So what if the UK for example let Huawei in to Great Britain? If a problem breaks out in the South China Sea, how will the United States be assured of secure communications with the Five Eyes Countries? If UK has Huawoi then UK immediately becomes a cut out in all secure communications. Would that be valuable to China? You bet it would. What about Germany? If any of the NATO countries accept the Huawei infrastructure now NATO can't have secure communications.

Is China stronger if NATO is weaker? You betcha! This is a very big deal. The free world has to move their supply chain out of China. Japan, South Korea, India, Brazil, to name a few, can handle that supply chain just fine without China, thank you very much.

This push to adopt technology quickly in order to maintain an upper-hand in the trade wars is, in part, a distraction from the very real, documented perils of what this new infrastructure entails. We need to harmonize with our environment, and 5G represents many levels of deharmonization. When parts of our body isolate themselves to benefit individual cells over the whole, we call it cancer. We are becoming cancer in the body of the environment we are inherently a part of.
    I want to hear it from your lips;
    What's it worth shining for?

I'm not sure I fully understand your point in it's entirety, but there are health concerns with 5G roll out, cancer being one of them, and it's far from a nominal concern. I am frankly quite concerned about that likelihood if not near certainty, as it not only effects those who adopt the technology personally, but everyone who walks around in the environment. Those 5G streams of data are almost certainly carcinogenic. You don't need to have a 5G device to be exposed.

My immediate fear is that the CCP tortures people every day, and we don't want them listening into our military secure communications.

That is awful! While this is arguably worse than what is going on in our own penal system, lets resist allowing this atrocity to eclipse what is going on here in the US. The goal is freedom for all, not just to point the finger at others.

The american government tortures people every day. Seeing orange suits reminds me of the loophole in the 13 amendment. All our government had to do was convince us to demonizes specific people for doing exactly what we already knew they were doing to get us to approve of slavery again.

“The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying. We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”

This is not some kind of good vs. evil story. Our world is full of people trying to do what is best in their own eyes. Some converge on similar ideals, but very few believe they are acting evil. This is a plank-in-the-eye scenario involving every human on the planet. I believe our biggest threat was to build such large powerful societies that have lost any for of real democracy in the process.

President Trump just signed legislation on that very issue. It was and is a very high priority for him.

The american government tortures people every day.
No, they don't. They never have and never will.

That is what President Trumps legislation just dealt with. But having American prisoners work in a furniture factory is in no way comparable to what is happening in Socialist countries like China. You need to go to time marker 1:20:00.

Richard Nixon and John Ehrlichman are both dead making it rather spotty as to determining the reliability of that characterization. You have to remember the Weather Underground, William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn blowing up police stations in those days.

This is not some kind of good vs. evil story.
That is exactly what it is. China is evil with a capital E and the United States, as countries go, is as good as countries get. We live in a different world because of the United States. And it is a far better world than has ever existed in the history of mankind.

Our world is full of people trying to do what is best in their own eyes.
China is not trying to do their best! They are torturing people to death on purpose because the CCP believes them to be a threat.

Some converge on similar ideals, but very few believe they are acting evil.
Let me get this straight. You electrocute people until they loose consciousness, and you don't understand that to be evil? No, that is not true. You can't electrocute people into unconsciousness and not know it's evil.

This is a plank-in-the-eye scenario involving every human on the planet. I believe our biggest threat was to build such large powerful societies that have lost any for of real democracy in the process.
No. Not even close. China has killed or shortened the lives through slave labor of 80 million of their own people. There is nothing comparable here, absolutely nothing.

If I did not believe in freedom of speech I would flag this flagrantly inflammatory post. If you aim to appear remotely as smart as you desperately attempt to tell us you are, please demonstrate as much in your posts.

I know there is a real issue here for two reasons. 1) A young man who worked for me died of brain cancer and left a wife and baby before he reached the age of 30, owing to the fact that he was on his cell phone constantly. 2) I correspond with some of the top physicists in the world more or less on a daily basis. They are all convinced that 5G will be very dangerous health wise. Here is a link you might glance at [link].

                  Maillard reaction in his brain?

Sure accept new technology and catch problems later. I recall they introduced a microwave blood warmer. Instead of a plastic coil going thru warm water, just zap a unit of blood so giving a transfusion didn't chill a patient with blood loss. They sold these and later discovered how red blood cells had been popped like popcorn.

You do the crime you serve time. Orange suits are free uniforms. Our society enjoys more freedom when we have perps who endanger society in jail for crimes against society.

You forget to display actual torture cases to support your accusation?
