As most of you are aware, we had a crash to forums and were down for over two days a while back. We did have to do an upgrade to the vbulletin software to fix the forums and that has created changes, VB no longer provide the hybrid or threaded forums. There are some issues/changes to the forums we are not able to fix or change. Also note the link address change, please let friends and posters know of the changed link to the forums. For now this is the only link available, https://forums.carm.org/vb5/ but if clicking on forum on carm.org homepage it will now send you to this link. (edited to add https: now working.

Again, we are working through some of the posting and viewing issues to learn how to post with the changes, you will have to check and test the different features, icons that have changed. You may also want to go to profile settings, since many of the notifications, information in profile, also to update/edit your avatar by clicking on avatar space, pull down arrow next to login for user settings.

Edit to add "How to read forums, to make it easier."
Pull down arrow next to login name upper right select profile, or user settings when page opens to profile, select link in tab that says Account. Then select/choose options, go down to Conversation Detail Options, Select Display mode Posts, NOT Activity, that selection of Posts will make the pages of discussions go to last post on last page rather than out of order that happens if you choose activity threads. Then be sure to go to bottom and select SAVE Changes in your profile options. You can then follow discussions by going through the pages, to the last page having latest responses. Then click on the other links Privacy, Notifications, to select viewing options, the forums get easier if you open all the tabs or links in your profile, user settings and select options. To join Super Member, pull down arrow next to login name, select User Settings and then click on tab/link at top that says Subscriptions.

Thank you for your patience and God Bless.

  • Israel Bans BDS-Supporting Anti-Semites Omar and Rashida Tlaib Ahead Of Planned Trip

They were going as part of a group of democrats to Israel, and were planning to travel through the Palestine area. Both women have made antisemitic comments and have been supporters of the antisemitic Boycott Divest Sanctions movement (BDS), to the point that they voted against a bipartisan bill condemning the BDS movement. Well, now they just found themselves Boycotted Divested and Sanctioned by Israel, as they much deserved.

It was the right call by Bibi. These two were just going to go into Palestine, use anything they saw there to attack Israel, and probably mimic their girl AOC in staging photo shoots of them crying in front of empty fields and claim that they were standing in front of some bombing site or something.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that Reps. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., were barred from entering the country ahead of a trip planned this weekend to visit sites at Jerusalem and the West Bank, among other stops.

Netanyahu said on Twitter that the two lawmakers were "planning a campaign whose sole purpose was to strengthen the boycott and negate Israel's legitimacy." President Donald Trump had tweeted to encourage a ban earlier Thursday.

"Congressmen Talib and Omar are leading activists in promoting boycott legislation against Israel in the US Congress," Netanyahu wrote in tweets on Thursday. "Only a few days ago, we received their visitation plan, and it became clear that they were planning a campaign whose sole purpose was to strengthen the boycott and negate Israel's legitimacy."
Netanyahu noted that Israel welcomed all visitors with one exception an Israeli law passed in 2017 that instructs the Israeli Interior Minister to ban foreign nationals who publicly support movements to boycott Israel.

Tlaib and Omar have spoken in support of the "Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions" (BDS) movement that seeks to, among other goals, pressure Israel into ending an occupation of the West Bank.

Senator Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., said in a tweet that "opposing Netanyahu's policies is not 'hating the Jewish people'" and called on Netanyahu to let Omar and Tlaib into the country.

The movement's opponents, on the other hand, see BDS directly in opposition to Israel. David Friedman, the American Ambassador to Israel, called it "not free speech" and "economic warfare" against the Israeli state.

Israel denies entry to outspoken Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib

    Updated on: August 15, 2019 / 2:08 PM / CBS/AP
The Israeli government said Thursday it would bar two Democratic congresswomen who support the Palestinian-led boycott movement from entering the country, a move that drew swift rebukes from Democratic leaders in Congress as well as the leading pro-Israel lobbying group in the U.S.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the country's interior minister had decided to deny entry to Reps. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, who were scheduled to visit next week. He said he supported the decision.

"As a free and vibrant democracy, Israel is open to critics and criticism, with one exception: Israeli law prohibits the entry into Israel of those who call for and work to impose boycotts on Israel," Netanyahu said in a statement. "Congresswomen Tlaib and Omar are leading activists in promoting the legislation of boycotts against Israel in the American Congress."

Netanyahu said the pair's itinerary "revealed that they planned a visit whose sole objective is to strengthen the boycott against us and deny Israel's legitimacy."

In a statement posted to Twitter, Omar called Netanyahu's decision "an affront."

"It is an affront that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, under pressure from President Trump, would deny entry to representatives of the U.S. government. Trump's Muslim ban is what Israel is implementing, this time against two duly elected Members of Congress," Omar said.

"The irony of the 'only democracy' in the Middle East making such a decision is that it is both an insult to democratic values and a chilling response to a visit by government officials from an allied nation," Omar continued.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi denounced the decision to bar them entry, calling it "a sign of weakness, and beneath the dignity of the great State of Israel." She also called President Trump's earlier statements about the congresswomen "a sign of ignorance and disrespect, and beneath the dignity of the Office of the President."

An aide to Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland, the House majority leader, said he "believes refusing them entry is a grave mistake that undermines the bipartisan pro-Israel consensus." Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called on the government to reverse its decision, saying it "will only hurt the U.S.-Israeli relationship and support for Israel in America."

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the most influential pro-Israel organization in the U.S., likewise said it disagreed with the move.

"We disagree with Reps. Omar and Tlaib's support for the anti-Israel and anti-peace BDS movement, along with Rep. Tlaib's calls for a one-state solution," the group said on Twitter. "We also believe every member of Congress should be able to visit and experience our democratic ally Israel firsthand."

The first-term Muslim members of Congress are outspoken critics of Israel's treatment of the Palestinians. Tlaib's family immigrated to the U.S. from the West Bank. Omar has been accused of anti-Semitism for previous remarks about Israel, but has apologized for her incendiary comments. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/rashida...etanyahu-says/
It's funny, the UK does this regularly to conservatives, etc., and the left says not a word, but the minute a leftist gets banned by Israel, it's the end of the world.

Have you ever considered living in Gaza or the West Bank for a few months? You could send us all a report of what life is like there.

    On the evidence:

If there were no Patriarchs, no Exodus, no conquest of Canaan, no united monarchy under David and Solomon. Can the early biblical Israel described in the books of Moses, Judges, Joshua, and Samuel, ever have existed at all?

Living under Hamas wouldn't be a picnic...is that what you mean?

Looks like Omar and Tlaib will have to stick to another country they dislike (USA) to sit and bash Jews, tho.

No, I would never consider living under an area controlled by extremist Muslims like Hamas. Especially ones who fire missiles at other countries while sitting on top of schools, hospitals, and other civilian infrastructure in order to claim Israel is targeting those things when they inevitably strike back in retaliation.

            Anything else?

Hamas is a terrorist organization. It's like being asked to live under ISIS or al Qaeda.

Hypothetically speaking, it's actually ideal if you happen to be a terrorist. Buy the same token I'd be pretty reticent to live in the Austin, Englewood, Garfield Park, Humboldt Park, North Lawndale, Roseland, or Grand Crossing neighborhoods in Chicago-land, unless of course I was a gang member who wanted to commit murder. In that case, these neighborhoods would be perfect, because my chances of being identified as a suspect for murder would be for all intents and purposes, zero. You see there is a down side to living in a place with bad government. So governments like Hezbollah and the Chicago city counsel are, how shall we say, less than ideal, unless you want to be a murderer or terrorist. The pity is that these bad governments don't have to be bad governments. They do that because they want to. No one is forcing them.

The people whining about Democrats looking to the government to solve problems are the same ones who want the government to define marriage, criminalize abortion, slow/stop legal immigration, save farmers, create jobs, etc.

Are you suggesting that Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlai were going there simply to compile an objective report? I can think of others more qualified.

Omar is saying Israel did a "Muslim ban" on her and the other gal.

Israel has lots of Muslims, they are even in the IDF.

Meanwhile many Islamic nations ban travel to Israel.
