  • The Reason they killed Jesus is because....

    he preached the gospel!
Not the news of his death burial and resurrection, because they knew nothing about him going to enter into hell in the hands of ungodly man, where they would sacrifice him on the cross.
No they killed him because he taught about the Kingdom of God and they did not want to lose their positions of rule in their ungodly world.

    Mark 1:14-15
14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
    KJV

The purpose of my posts are not to cause bicker or division, but to show truth from the scripture for edifying of the soul. It does not matter what we think, it is what God's Word says that matters.

Actually, they played into the hand of God who knew the ways of ungodly man and planned His Son's death to pay our sin debt and give us opportunity to be restored to God's image as He intended us to be. But the gospel was of the Kingdom of God that threatened them.

Matthew 21:37-39 tells us the leaders of the Jewish but the overarching will of God had ordained this before the foundations of the world were set in place. Like He did for Joseph with his brothers selling him into slavery. The religious letters meant it for evil but God meant it for good and we are saved by it.knew that He was the Heir and part of their motivation was they wanted the land for themselves.

66 What do you think?” “He deserves to die,” they answered.
67 Then they spat in His face and struck Him. Others slapped Him,
68 and said, “Prophesy to us, Christ! Who hit You?”…
        - Do for others as you would want them to do for you: this is the foundation of the Law of Moses and of the teachings of the prophets. -
