Joseph Smith, Braggart Supreme!

Mormon cult leaders aren't very proud of Joey the Liar's boasting a month before he jumped to his death from the window at Carthage jail. What did Joey boast about?

"“I have more to boast of,” he’s reported to have said, “than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. … Neither Paul, John, Peter nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet” (“History of the Church,” 6:408-409]

"Joseph Smith wasn’t arrogant or boastful"

Joey made this boast on May 26, 1844, about a month before his demise. You can find the whole disgusting sermon here: https://rsc.byu.edu/words.../26-may-1844-sunday-morning.....

As would be expected the Mormon cult evades the issue and tries to pour doubt upon Smith's words by trying to say that this sermon may not represent the actual words spoken by Joey, but is based upon the writing of someone present when the sermon was given. Sure, we all know that "the King" (Smith was crowned King by the Council of 50) wouldn't ever brag about himself. Right? Wrong! I can't think of a bigger braggart in American history, can you?
