Many new versions change several verses in Matthew and Luke which promote the new age Christ consciousness heresy, a form of adoptionism.
Here are the King James verses. These versions change either “a greater“ or “one greater“ to “something greater”. This thing is the Christ consciousness similar to the title for an office, like the president. Different people will hold that office and be called the president. This Christ consciousness came upon Jesus at His baptism.
6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. - Matthew 12:6,41-42
