Still not dealing with 1 Corinthians 2.What is does not say is man cannot understand the gospel he reads or hears
It speaks of knowledge gained in a particular way
c. γ. τὰ τοῦ πνεύματος the things which proceed from the Spirit, 1 Co. 2:14; τὸ πνεῦμα τ. ἀληθείας καὶ τὸ πν. τῆς πλάνης, 1 Jn. 4:6; τὰ μυστήρια τῆς βασιλείας τῶν οὐρανῶν, Mt. 13:11; τὴν ἀλήθειαν, Jn. 8:32; 2 Jn. 1; absol., of the knowledge of divine things, 1 Co. 13:12; of the knowledge of things lawful for a Christian, 1 Co. 8:2.
[Syn. γινώσκειν, εἰδέναι, ἐπίστασθαι, συνιέναι: In classic usage (cf. Schmidt ch. 13), γινώσκειν, distinguished from the rest by its original inchoative force, denotes a discriminating apprehension of external impressions, a knowledge grounded in personal experience. εἰδέναι, lit. ‘to have seen with the mind’s eye,’ signifies a clear and purely mental perception, in contrast both to conjecture and to knowledge derived from others. ἐπίστασθαι primarily expresses the knowledge obtained by proximity to the thing known (cf. our understand, Germ. verstehen); then knowledge viewed as the result of prolonged practice, in opposition to the process of learning on the one hand, and to the uncertain knowledge of a dilettante on the other. Sorry you already affirmed they can understand the gospel
so you are self refuted
1cor 2:14 is simply not saying man cannot understand what he reads or hears preached contrary to many versesd
John 20:31 (ESV) — 31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
Romans 10:10–17 (ESV) — 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Yes, that paticular way is by the Spirit. LOL
