USCCB guidelines for blessing sodomite couples

“Although attempts are being made to justify the Vatican declaration, claiming the pope’s aims were misunderstood, other churches now also look certain to suspend ties.”

Miscommunications do happen from time to time of course. Memos have to be translated from one language to another, and often there are different ways of expressing ideas and idioms that make things different for an exact translation.

However, the real intent of the Papal declarations on gay unions is clear from the reactions of top cardinals as well as Francis' top underlings like James Martin SJ. They full throated participation in gay union ceremonies in the wake of the letter tells its meaning. It isn't a miscommunication to come to the conclusion that the EO, Copts, Muslims and others have.

But there have been many centuries of these so called miscommunications.

Maybe i'm a little more skeptical. If the infallible magesterium can't speak clearly on such an important issue then its just more proof they aren't infallible, or of God or a true religion. The ccc is a muddy mess and now this guy can't clearly enunciate what he is trying to get across? Its only catholics who are trying to furiously bail water from this sinking ship. The rest of the world seems to understand it just fine. Enough so, to break ties. Go woke, go broke.

Why do so many Catholic apologists keep denying the obvious that the Catholic Church now blesses sodomite couples? It only makes themselves look silly and foolish.

The article speaks on exploring ways to bless these people while at the same time the CC: "remains firm on the traditional doctrine of the Church about marriage, not allowing any type of liturgical rite or blessing similar to a liturgical rite that can create confusion," but it also explores the "pastoral meaning of blessings" in a way that opens "the possibility of blessing couples in irregular situations and same-sex couples without officially validating their status or changing in any way the Church's perennial teaching on marriage."

But some will abuse it of course. The world will misconstrue it.

The CC teachings havent changed

I knew from the moment he was picked that we would have a problem with the Jesuit now known as Pope Francis. His confusion on social issues has been the hallmark of his papacy thus far.

Semantics. You use words like; 'exploring', 'blessing...irregular situations'..The rcc is firm on marriage but it can bless gay couples but hold on there, it just can't look like they endorse it. Absolute nonsense. Read the articles i posted recently. Other churches and muslims are breaking ties with the rcc over this. Your own bishops and cardinals refuse to do this. Are they all misconstruing what your pope is saying?

Many organizations use double-speak. Having said that, how do you think Jesus would deal with such people? Would he show love and compassion, or would He be like a prosecutor?

Jesus would have them repent. He certainly woudn't endorse the relationship would He? And aren't we supposed to avoid even the appearance of evil? Or scandal? Thats really what the pastoral epistles are saying when it speaks of the requirements for deacons or elders. Being above reproach is to not even have the appearance of sin. Does that sound like what your pope is urging your magesterium to do? Our church would gladly welcome anyone that walks through our doors. We are friendly and they will hear the gospel. But we won't condone the behavior.

Yes, he would tell them to repent and sin no more. Who on this earth is perfect as we go through our lives, no one as far as I can tell. The Pope does no one a favor with his proclamations about certain things. The man is a leftist, what more can I say?

How do you think He would have dealt with those He said the following about:

Matt 23

13-14 You Pharisees and teachers of the Law of Moses are in for trouble! You're nothing but show-offs. You lock people out of the kingdom of heaven. You won't go in yourselves, and you keep others from going in.

15 You Pharisees and teachers of the Law of Moses are in for trouble! You're nothing but show-offs. You travel over land and sea to win one follower. And when you have done so, you make that person twice as fit for hell as you are.

16 You are in for trouble! You are supposed to lead others, but you are blind. You teach that it doesn't matter if a person swears by the temple. But you say it does matter if someone swears by the gold in the temple. 17 You blind fools! Which is greater, the gold or the temple that makes the gold sacred?

18 You also teach that it doesn't matter if a person swears by the altar. But you say it does matter if someone swears by the gift on the altar. 19 Are you blind? Which is more important, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred? 20 Anyone who swears by the altar also swears by everything on it. 21 And anyone who swears by the temple also swears by God, who lives there. 22 To swear by heaven is the same as swearing by God's throne and by the one who sits on that throne.

27 You Pharisees and teachers are in for trouble! You're nothing but show-offs. You're like tombs that have been whitewashed. On the outside they are beautiful, but inside they are full of bones and filth. 28 That's what you are like. Outside you look good, but inside you are evil and only pretend to be good.

Whenever an RC compares their institution to others, they prove their institution is not what it claims to be. The real church is different to others, it is spotless for a start.

I notice that no RC is responding.

Yet you are compelled to obey him. See what a theological, moral disaster your faith has become? We hear day in and day out 'obey your leaders'. As though you have to obey them regardless of their behavior or teaching. Thats a problem you all created and youre stuck with it. Well, your church could hold a council and oust the guy but his closest comrades are in league with him, its too late for that. Or believe in Jesus, be born again and leave that hot mess for a good gospel preaching church.

They see it...and like it. They do not care.

They would rather ally themselves with sin than repent and follow Jesus.

We hear day in and day out 'obey your leaders'. As though you have to obey them regardless of their behavior or teaching.

And every time a Christ follower hears a Roman Catholic self righteously demand that, we all chuckle because we know that not even these Catholics believe it.

Who said we have to obey them when they err? Surely the many responses I have seen here by other Catholics concerning Francis should tell you that we are automatons. The local Bishop des have a lot of authority and they do not have to implement this kind of policy. The Church remains correct in its most important teachings like the sacraments and Jesus as God come to earth. Non-Catholic churches have nothing to say that could bring me within their walls.

Pssst....you are not the judge of when they err.

LOL.

They tell YOU what is error, not the other way around. Your only job is to obey them with all "docility."

You obviously never read Vatican I, nor have your submitted to your own dogma.

  1. Wherefore we teach and declare that,
    • by divine ordinance,
    • the Roman church possesses a pre-eminence of ordinary power over every other church, and that
    • this jurisdictional power of the Roman pontiff is both
      • episcopal and
      • immediate.
    • Both clergy and faithful,
      • of whatever rite and dignity,
      • both singly and collectively,
    • are bound to submit to this power by the duty of hierarchical subordination and true obedience, and this
      • not only in matters concerning faith and morals,
      • but also in those which regard the discipline and government of the church throughout the world.

You and your bishops must submit....no matter what Jorge has told you...such as blessing sexual immorality.

In case you do not know, no one can judge any sentence of Jorge or any other evil Catholic pope:
  • The sentence of the apostolic see (than which there is no higher authority) is not subject to revision by anyone, nor may anyone lawfully pass judgment thereupon
Since you deny this, you need to know you have abandoned the Catholic faith and:

"This is the teaching of the catholic truth, and no one can depart from it without endangering his faith and salvation."

Non-Catholic churches have nothing to say that could bring me within their walls.

Yes. You will follow any evil your sect pronounces and never submit to the Word of God.

We have had Catholics tell us that numerous times.

They forget a lot of RC writings, their catechism and their canons etc.
