An interesting deconstruction of the Catholics' claim that Mary is analogous to the Ark of the Covenant.

No where in Scripture does God ever approve of worshiping Him vicariously through objects or persons. You so badly want idolatry to be acceptable. And it is NOT acceptable in the New Testament, just as it was NOT acceptable in the Old Testament.

Jesus says verbatim

Luke 4:8
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’

John 4:23-24
But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him. God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”

Your attempting to justify and find excuses for the worship of statues, saints, relics... etc...
we do not worship images/statues. worship belongs to God alone.

the use of statues/images for religious purposes is not idolatry. check the brazen serpent and the 2 cherubims in the ark of the covenant.

How could focusing on Mary ever lead us away from Jesus?
Re read what you just said.

If your focus is on someone other than Jesus, the One that does to save us, you’ve already been lead away from Him.

Satan is sneaky. He can lead you away from the Savior in many ways. One is taking your eyes off of Him and placing them on His mother.
The whole purpose of her life was to lead us to Jesus.
Scripture?
