David Brooks had an interesting article in the NYT today based on Fareek Zakaria's new book.
Brooks, a conservative, offers a defense of liberalism, pointing out that what is damaging to our society right now is an overemphasis on individual freedoms without a concomitant recognition that with freedom comes responsibility and obligations to the society in which that individual lives.

The peaceful world the Donald Trump bequeathed to Joe Biden is a flame. The nuclear holocaust clock is one minute to midnight. Terrorists from every ill intentioned malefactor on planet earth are taking advantage of our open borders and setting up their long-term operations in our country completely unchecked. Our justice system has completely disintegrated into a cross between The Nazi Gestapo and the British star chamber.

Inflation has been a worldwide issue, but the US is doing better than our peer countries in dealing with inflation.
We all recognize that the southern border is a problem, but under the direction of Trump, Republicans in Congress vetoed the bill they negotiated which would have given them many of their priorities. Why don't you blame them? And what is the Republican plan for the border?
Fears of nuclear war date far back. When I was a kid we had nuclear war drills in school. They don't do that anymore. Instead they have active shooter drills because of the proliferation of guns in the USA.
So where are the foreign terrorist attacks during Biden's administration? 9/11 was during the Bush administration. We have a much more serious problem with domestic terrorism, mainly from the RW.
I get it that your side thinks pursuing justice against Trump and his cronies = Nazism. But this is how a fair justice system works.

Right, the United States is exported the inflation problem to the world by flooding every corner of the planet with worthless dollars that have been produced by the Biden administration. What do you think there is such a worldwide concerted effort to escape the dollar is the world reserve currency?
When did this revelation occur? When Joe Biden sold all of the materials for the wall along the southern borders for scrap? When the Biden administration filed a lawsuit against the state of Texas for trying to enforce their borders? When the Biden administration took up the policy of flying illegal aliens to every red state in the country under dark of night? When the good people of Martha's Vineyard took selfies with the illegal immigrants shipped to them from Florida and Texas before summarily evicting them from their utopic island?
When the state of New York decided to start arresting homeowners, for attempting to evict illegal aliens who taken up residence in their homes? When countless Americans have been murdered and raped because other countries are emptying out their prisons and sending the dregs of their underworld across our southern border? Since every terrorist organization in the world is setting up American operations because there is absolutely zero impediments to they're doing so?
Since China has been flooding our border with spies and operatives and enforcement units that will and is wreaking havoc on Americans of Chinese descent, who are not loyal to the CCP? Nothing going on in any courtroom regarding Donald Trump has anything to do with justice. Nothing like any of these legal actions have been taken against a president or former president in 247 years of our nations existence.
These have nothing to do with Donald Trump or anything that he has done. These have everything to do with the fact that his adversaries are un-American degenerates who give no thought to destroying the cohesion of this great republic.
Our country has been rendered infinitely weaker than it has ever been by these actions and restoring it to its former glory may be impossible. However that may be, we are given no relief from our obligation to undo the damage that has been done, and is still significantly underway.

Inflation was not something created in the USA and exported. It developed in large part due to the responses to the pandemic like problems with the supply chain. This was a global problem.
What is the evidence that other countries are emptying their prisons and sending those people here? There is, in fact, no evidence of any migrant crime wave here, as homegrown crime outpaces that of migrants.
So name some of those inexplicable events that are really terrorism.
