Laying on of hands

Laying on of hands was a practice that is found throughout scripture, both in the OT and the NT to confer blessings, authority....For Catholics the laying on of hands is still practiced.

So as a Bible study:

What were all the reasons for the laying on of hands?

Was the laying on of hands a requirement for each of these reasons?

Is it a requirement today?

As a spell.

That is how you had evil men in your sect "laying hands" on other evil men in your sect...and you think that grants authority over Christ followers.

LOL.

What a sham.

The laying on of hands to confer authority onto someone was a practice in both the OT and the NT.

For godly men.

Your sect has laid hands on the most corrupt and wicked. Even non believers, surely.

Has it always been a spell in the history of the Christian faith?

The problem with the laying on of hands for priesthood, in the RCC, is that it is a lie. We are now all priests.

It is even a lie within Roman Catholicism.

Catholics have no clue if the man at the front in the dress is even a validly ordained priest at all!

This has happened over and over again, but Catholics like to keep that stuff quiet.

Not only that but what was he up to, before celebrating the mass. Does he meet the scriptural requirements for leaders?

Is the laying on of hands a requirement to transfer authority in the Christian faith?

Every Born Believer has been given the authority and the power of God. Do you really know who you are in Christ?. Mark 16:15-17
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
