Pope: Marxists and Christians have a common mission

"Do not allow finance and the market to dictate the law," the Pope urged his guests. They should "not stop dreaming of a better world", in which ideals such as freedom, equality, dignity and fraternity are upheld; these ideals are a "mirror of God's dream" for humanity.

[puts Bible next to Das Kapital] I'm Catholic now.

So, you disagree with the idea that we should try to create a better world for everyone, in which ideals such as freedom, equality, dignity, and fraternity are upheld?
Of course I support that idea, but it will never ever happen. Mankind is fallen and there will always be those with the money and power who do NOT uphold such ideals despite their claims to the contrary. Democrats in the US are a prime example of that.

This gives new meaning to the question "is the Pope Catholic?"

That is why you need Trump rather than Biden. Woke ideology infringes on freedom, equality and dignity.

What policies of Dems oppose the ideals of freedom, equality, dignity and fraternity?
Seems to me that such ideals are upheld by Dem policies and programs like SS, Medicare, Medicaid, the ACA, Voting and Civil Rights Acts, Violence against women act, etc.

The Republicans have fought against all of the above.
Can you name policies of Republicans that have helped the average American? Tax cuts for the rich don't count.

What policies of Dems oppose the ideals of freedom, equality, dignity and fraternity?
Oh, where to start.

Freedom of speech for one. The dems vehemently and often violently reject freedom of speech when they don't like it.

Equality? Nope. Dems do not support equality. That's why we have DEI and the mess that has made.

Dignity? Nope. Dems do not support dignity for all. Only dignity for those who agree with them.

Fraternity? Not sure what you mean by that. But the Dems have no fraternity with those who disagree with them; if you're white and don't bow to the idea that because you were born with white skin, you're the problem.

You don't seem to be aware of the actual facts. For example, more Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act than Democrats as a percentage. The voting record I saw for SS shows a majority of Republicans voted for it. There are significant challenges with SS, Medicare, Medicaid and the Democrats are not addressing those issues. In the end, I believe Congress will keep them going because to let them fail would be disaster for this country.

The Democrats are perfectly okay with giving hand outs rather than a hand up. Work is GOOD for us. Earning our own way is GOOD for people. Democrats don't seem to grasp this fact.

The Republicans have fought against all of the above.

The lie about the Trump tax cuts is going to be exposed. If the idiot Democrats let those tax cuts expire, we'll all see just how much they actually helped the working class.

For the family of 4 working class Trump's tax cuts were a huge boon and even Biden's IRS admits that. It's just uninformed democrats like you who don't grasp it.

Now, regarding tax cuts for the rich/corporations. It's pure idiocy to not acknowledge that corporations merely pass on any increased costs they have. And Biden has been an absolute disaster!

The fact that you people associate capitalism with Christianity shows that you’re nothing close to traditional Christians.

Here is another example of the law being broken and citizens having to challenge it to.get justice.

There are probably more women whose rigjhts are being abused by transactivists, and certainly more children getting abused than the numbers who took.part in the so called insurection.

Republicans are the ones banning books, preventing professors at FL universities from providing expert testimony in court, and preventing doctors from discussing abortion as an option with their patients. There are plenty more examples.

Dems are attempting to correct decades and decades of embedded racism. While I agree that some of DEI is over the top, the motivation is equality. And none of it is claiming that everyone with white skin is the problem.

LBJ rightly said that the passage of the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts would result in the Dems losing the South. That happened.

The vote on SS in Congress was held in April 1935 and a much higher % of Dems voted for it.

The yes/no votes:

House
Dem 284/15
Repub 81/15

Senate
Dem 60/1
Repub 16/5

As for Medicare, Reagan gave a speech criticizing it as socialism and saying it would destroy America.

Are you saying we should not act together to help the disabled, the disadvantaged, the elderly, the sick?

As for the Trump tax cuts - the tax cuts for the rich will continue in perpetuity whereas the tax cuts for the rest of us were designed, by the Republicans writing that bill, to expire after 5 years. Do not blame the Dems for this design.

I agree that there are many ways that the rich and corporations avoid paying taxes. I also think that your side is reluctant to do anything to change that system.

If he said Socialism it would have been more accurate, since Marxism is anti-religion.

not American Evangelicals

That is a new sect that is basically a subcategory of the Republican Party.

Christ was all about charity and love, not hate
Ok. So you've told me who is not a traditional Christian in your opinion, but you haven't told me who IS a traditional Christian.

In addition, it's obvious you do not know what a Christian is.

Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Anglicans, Episcopalians…you know, traditional. Not something that was made up in the 1980s.

In addition, it's obvious you do not know what a Christian is.

I define a Christian as someone who sincerely believes they are one.

And they all disagree with one another. LOL.

There have ALWAYS been evangelicals. You really don't have a clue what you are talking about.

Universal claptrap.

A Christian is one who has believed Jesus died on the cross and was raised again. A Christian is one who is saved by God's grace, through faith, apart from works.

Simply believing you're a Christian doesn't make you one. You talk about traditional Christians and you clearly don't even know the traditional definition of Christian.

Which indicates that to "Pope" has no concept whatsoever of what Christianity is all about.
