The Rev. Soft Tinkie Van Fanny Deconverts From Christianity. (JAG: Bovine droppings. He did NOT.)

The Rev. Soff Tinkie Van Fanny was NEVER a true Christian.

We Christians base our positions on what the Bible says, and NOT on what
the ***enemies of Christianity choose to believe -- which 99% of the time
is chosen by them for the specific purpse to make Christianity look bad.

***Enemies! You understand the concept of ***enemies eg Patton v. Rommel
eg Batman v. The Joker eg Superman v. Lex Luthor -- so don't pretend
that we all out "just looking at the evidence with an open mind and
willing to follow the evidence wherever it leadsthat's a large load of
pure untruth.

So?

So regardless of their emotional testimony and their goo goo eyes and their
self-pitting groaning and moaning about "what Christianity has done to them" --
The Bible is clear as a bell when it teaches that no true born again Christian
can ever leave the faith and stop believing in the Lord Jesus as their Savior.

"They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they
had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going
showed that none of them belonged to us." I John 2:19

The great Apostle Paul says that he has been in "danger from false believers"
2 Cor. 11:26 ....

" . . .FALSE BELIEVERS . . ."

And the Lord Jesus is clear and emphatic in John 10:28-30 when He teaches
that His sheep can NEVER be lost:

"Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my
Father’s name testify about me, but you do not believe because you are not
my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them
out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all c ;
no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30I and the Father are one.”

The Rev. Soff Tinkie Van Fanny always belonged to his father Satan

To be fair, Christians do enough to make themselves look bad.

lol.
Interesting rationalization. Interesting that you need to rationalize it.
Obviously you're very informed about the situation though.

When Biblical scholars give me reasons to doubt the Gospels, what am I to do?

You seem confused. You seem to think that atheists believe in your God and what your Bible says but
are opposed to them.
That isn't the case.
We do NOT believe in your God.
We aren't enemies of your imaginary God anymore that we are enemies of Batman or Lex Luthor.
We are familiar with the character though and many of us have opinions about the character in be the collection of literary works known as the Bible.
To say otherwise is essentially to argue a strawman -which may appear to give you a tactical advantage but it's incorrect.
Do what you want but it's incorrect.

So do you believe the earth is flat, and covered in a firmament across which the sun, moon and stars move? Or do you mean you pick and choose the bits of the Bible you want to believe?

So do you believe the earth is flat, and covered in a firmament across which the sun, moon and stars move? Or do you mean you pick and choose the bits of the Bible you want to believe?
Well, I think that's a reasonable conclusion based on JAG's post.

So if you hear someone mention a sunRISE, do you nerdishly correct him??

So if you hear someone mention a sunRISE, do you nerdishly correct him??
Maybe you could clarify your position:
if someone explains what they believe and why, do you take them at their word?
JAG was clear about what they believe (the Bible).
Based on JAG's post, there is no reason to think they cherry pick.
Maybe take the chip off your shoulder.

Depends on who it is.

Who said there was?

Maybe take the chip off your shoulder.

Sorry. I had just reached into the Pringles can to get a handful and my dog jumped in my lap scattering chips all over my body. But how did you know?

Depends on who it is.
What are your conditions?
Do you have a standard or is it just personal bias -regarding who's word you take at face value?
I'll predict that you are likely to dismiss the words of someone whom you dislike or disagree with and are more likely to accept a person's self description if you like them or agree with their position.
Who said there was?
Ah, maybe you didn't think about what you said before hitting "post reply"?
Or perhaps you don't understand what JAG said?

Top of da mor'n to you.

None of your mumbo jumbo up there has anything to do with my OP
so I will be breathlessly awaiting your new thread where you can unburden
your soul with your concerns with your very own Opening Post ---- think of
your new upcoming thread as an intellectual catharsis -- a mental enema to
flush your mind . . .

. . . and pray that the results of all that will be that the Sovereign God will
reach down in love and mercy and save you from the certain coming death
that awaits you in Gehenna "where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

Listen! You don't want to experience John 3:16's perish. You're not Superman
are you? You have a nervous system and you can feel intense pain. What are
you going to do when it comes time to pay for all your
sins?

In closing allow me to share:

The Gospel In A Nutshell:
"2 Cor. 5:21 He made Him who knew no sin, to be sin for us,
that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Let
me unpack those 15 Greek words: He God made Jesus sin.
What do you mean He made Jesus sin? Only in one sense:
He treated Him as if He had committed every sin ever
committed by every person who would believe though in fact
Jesus committed none of them. Hanging on The Cross he was
Holy, Harmless, and Undefiled.

Hanging on The Cross He was the Spotless Lamb, He was never
a split second a sinner. He was Holy God on The Cross, but God
is treating Him -I'll put it more practically, as if He had lived my life.
God punished Jesus for my sin, turns right around and treats me
as if I had lived His life. That's the great doctrine of Substitution and
on that doctrine turned the whole reformation of the Christian Church,
that is the heart of the gospel and what you get is complete forgiveness
covered by the righteousness of Jesus Christ. When God looks at The
Cross He sees you and when He looks at you He sees Christ."

Is gehenna that place where Darth Vader got burned?
Or is it in Middle Earth somewhere?
Sometimes I get the fantasy stories mixed up.

Correct.

Such as?
-Are you threatening me in some way?
Why would my sins need to be paid for?
And besides, didn't someone do that already?

Yeah, a really interesting story.
Do you think it applies to you in some way?
If yes, why? For what reason do you think it is more than a story?

So do you believe the earth is flat, and covered in a firmament across which the sun, moon and stars move? Or do you mean you pick and choose the bits of the Bible you want to believe?
That has nothing to do with the main point of my Opening Post.

Thanks for your reply .. wait! Not really.
I don't mean to be insulting, but there is nothing serious in your reply
to respond to. My view: I would have to be at least 1/2 brain dead to
compose a response to that up there. You are here to mock and ridicule
and amazingly there are true Christians here that get some kind of
satisfaction in playing that game.

I am not one of them.

What are your conditions?

To know someone well enough to discern if they are likely to be a liar.

Do you have a standard or is it just personal bias

The latter. For example, I am biased against you.

Ah, maybe you didn't think about what you said before hitting "post reply"?

Not much, correct.

Or perhaps you don't understand what JAG said?
JAG said :
"We Christians base our positions on what the Bible says,"

I don't really care enough to have a "position." I give him the benefit of a doubt.

Perhaps you think JAG doesn't know everything the bible says?

I doubt anyone does.

Thanks for your reply .. wait! Not really.
I don't mean to be insulting,
You have no reason to be insulting.
but there is nothing serious in your reply
I somewhat agree due to the fact that the post I was responding to wasn't very serious.
But I make some decent points which you will dismiss for whatever biased reason you have.
to respond to. My view: I would have to be at least 1/2 brain dead to
compose a response to that up there.
perhaps but responding to it honestly would require you to some self reflection which considering the topic is likely uncomfortable plus it might lead you into sin.
Opposing ideas are difficult for the Christian to consider.
You are here to mock and ridicule
When appropriate sure.
But not before receiving the same first.
and amazingly there are true Christians here that get some kind of
satisfaction in playing that game.
I'm not sure what a true Christian is. Are there different definitions? It seems likely that each true Christian has a slightly different idea of what that entails.
I am not one of them.
Are you one of those Christians who can have an honest conversation?
Are you one of those Christians who aren't afraid to consider challenges to their beliefs or to discuss other ideas than their own?
It seems that you are not.
Sadly.
