Yea and Ney's counted - House advances Foreign Aid Bills

Johnson has proved capable. He will get eaten alive for it by the loony right.

He might survive the nonsense. Even if he doesn't, his record for paying attention to the intelligence provided by experts and taking the right course of action at potentially his own expense will propel a future for him that many will read about in American history.

Ground news is supposed to be good. Do you pay for it?

Yes - it is a useful tool to help ferret out bias in reporting

No - honorable is the correct observation here. Ordinary people are being ripped to shreds in the middle of the night by Putin's orders, and they are only asking for the means to defend themselves.

“Ukrainians desperately need lethal aid right now… We cannot allow Vladimir Putin to roll through another country and take it,” - Johnson

No - The lions share of the cost is in used equipment, munitions and supplies for those that need it most. New equipment, munitions, and supplies are replacing the older keeping thousands at work putting food on the table and creating jobs here in the United States.

err...The United States is not at war, and when a future war erupts, it's better to be prepared than it is to let evil rip apart all we have built over time.

  • The House advanced a $95 billion foreign aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan with bipartisan support.
  • Democrats aided Republican Speaker Mike Johnson in moving the plan forward, showcasing rare unity in the House.
  • Speaker Johnson's strategy paid off with House approval likely over the weekend, setting a strong tone for American leadership.

RT's favorite, Marjorie Taylor Greene, is probably going to go non-linear over this.

35 trillion dollars in debt, millions of illegals pouring across our border, rampant crime in all major cities, but we keep pouring billions of dollars into a losing war in Ukraine and funding the genocide of Palestinians.

We live in a Zionist Occupied Government. AIPAC owns Congress, there is no opposition party.

The last bit of blood is being sucked out of the corpse of this country.

That's very good news.
Yeah, billions for a losing proxy war against Russia and billions for the slaughter of Palestinian women and children while Israel tries to provoke a war with Iran, which we will fight for them.

She's a nutter who thinks California fires were caused by Jewish space lasers. I don't really care what she thinks.
She's a typical sell-out Neocon. Before the Nov. 2022 elections she was opposed to funding the proxy war with Russia and was calling for the impeachment of Kevin McCarthy. After the election she totally flipped and said she wanted the money sent to Ukraine audited and supported McCarthy in his fight to retain Speaker of House.

She obviously cashed her check.

- Speaker Mike Johnson had a full seven months to put forward a very restrictive proposal about border security; yet each and each-and-every proposal was shelved (dead on arrival) because Trump wanted to keep the status quo and prolong our terrible border situation.

- The vast majority of these "billions of dollars" is counted from the value of old used military munitions and equipment sent to Ukraine -and- the manufacturing of new replacement munitions and equipment for our use in future wars. The creates new jobs for thousands of people here, at home, in the United States while simultaneously helping those that desperately need the means to defend themselves.

- I agree about debt and deficit spending - it must be reined in.

- The United States is a solid-reliable ally for Israel and it will stay that way for the foreseeable future. What should take place is that Iran must stop Hamas' activities in Israel and the Gaza strip, and stop attacking Israel altogether. Undoubtedly, innocent civilian Palestinians need help to rebuild and restore their lives. This too must occur without the influence of terrorist organizations and rogue states like Iran that want Israel to vanish and cease to exist on planet Earth.

History records that Hamas butchered about 1,200 people including men, women, children, and infants on October 7th. They even recorded their slaughter, rape, and torture of civilians, up to and including a couple of hundred foreign nationals. Capturing a minimum of 240 hostages as negotiation chips was not an accident.

All of this was followed up with a propaganda and disinformation campaign while fully understanding that Israel had no choice but militarily respond to the threat that included networks of tunnels constructed under Gaza hospitals while using Palestinian civilians as human shields.

I don't have reason to believe conspiracy beliefs in general, especially beliefs that are saturated with antisemitism.

The US aid package to Ukraine will do nothing to change the situation on the ground. $6 billion, $60 billion, or $600 billion, it won't make a difference to the outcome.

And apparently, “for the development and production of isotopes.” 🤔

Baloney. If Johnson was a puppet of Trump he would have killed the FISA bill. Amazingly, Johnson is even worse than Kevin McCarthy

All we are doing it getting Ukrainians killed in large numbers in a losing cause and provoking Putin into a potential nuclear conflict. It is absolutely immoral what we are doing to Ukraine to prop up a corrupt country used as a slush fund for Joe and Hunter Biden and other corrupt politicians. Plus, spending hundreds of billions of tax dollars intervening in foreign wars in which we have no national interest.
- I agree about debt and deficit spending - it must be reined in.
Right so we agree we have no business spending hundreds of billions of dollars supporting foreign wars and killing people.

Oh, I'm so glad WE are a "solid reliable ally" for Israel. Please tell me how Israel is our "greatest ally"? In what way do we benefit from our relationship with Israel? What do they do for us? I can think of a few things.

Israel has been caught on more than one occasion selling American defense technology to Communist China.
They spy on us. They've been caught placing spy devices near the White House, and on devices of government officials.
They have carried out economic espionage on American companies.
They harbor known criminals who face prosecution in the US .
The provided the fake intel claiming "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq, which led the US into the Iraq war.
The intentionally bombed the US Liberty killing 34 Americans and wounding 171 others.
They have completely destabilized the Middle East.

Hamas attached Israel on hand gliders, pickup trucks, motorcycles and rubber rafts with machine guns. There is no comparison with Hamas and the military capabilities of Israel.

Even the mainstream news reports that the US warned Israel of the impending attacks. Mossad is an intelligence superpower, they knew the attack was coming. Bottom line is this; the Hamas attack was very convenient for Benjamin Netanyahu who was facing at least 4 corruption charges. However, with the state of "emergency" all of that has been put on the back shelf and allowed Israel to annex Gaza, which they long wanted to do anyway.
I don't have reason to believe conspiracy beliefs in general, especially beliefs that are saturated with antisemitism.
Oy Vey! You are antisemitic goy!! It's all a conspiracy theory by the goyim!

Have you ever heard of AJPAC? That's the American Jewish Political Action Committee. It's probably the most well-funded lobbying organization on Capitol Hill.

Here's some of the politicians that are in their millionaire club: Bob Mendez, Mitch McConnell, Chuck Shumer, Steny Hoyer, Ted Cruz, Josh Gottheimer, Hakeem Jeffries, Ron Wyden, Brad Schneider, Ritchie Torres, Dick Durbin, Shontel Brown, Marco Rubio, Lindsey Graham.

Most members of Congress are on the take, but these are the AJPAC all stars.

Oy Vey! It's just a conspiracy theory goy!

The US is run by a UniParty funded by Defense contractor and AJPAC lobbyists. The agenda is to maintain a constant state of war or threat of war, to always have a boogieman, and first and foremost to unequivocally support the state of Israel in their murder of 30,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

Why are we borrowing billions to gift to countries that hate us instead of them getting their own loans?

Perceptions about hate vary from year-to-year as shown below:

The Ukraine is hopelessly corrupt, just like the South Vietnamese were corrupt. Why we constantly back corrupt regimes is what I would like to know. The problem is for years Ukraine was in the Russian orbit, so why should we care about them and leave our own borders open? Our own open border is more critical to our national security than providing all this free money to the Ukraine that we cannot afford due to our 34 trillion dollar debt.

Help for Ukraine is likely in the single-digit percent level of the budget.
Who cares? We are now 34 trillion dollars in debt with a one trillion-dollar interest payment. We need to save some money here, and save some money there, and pretty soon it's a big amount that we have actually saved.

It's interesting that a Speaker who was initially billed as both hardline Trumpist and in hoc to the lunatic fringe, has proved eventually to be able to do what was not thought possible, bring some cross party support to bear on an important piece of government business. I am reminded of how Ian Paisley and Martin McGuiness, two men you would not be surprised if they genuinely tried to murder the other, became effective partner and even friends, when the chips were down. And the reputation of both was greatly enhanced as a result. Well played Johnson!
How is sending more money to Ukraine to get more Ukrainians killed by Russian bullets in the US interest? So far as I can tell, if you aren't actually receiving any of the graft, you're simply being lined up in front of a Russian firing squad to be executed. Now I understand the desire to participate in the graft, what I don't understand is how is sending your old men and boys to the front line to be shot by the Russians, any indication of patriotism.

While the beneficiaries of this graft are eating caviar in Kyiv, you've got Americans dying in the streets, working class people experiencing inflation this literally driving them out of their homes, and a land invasion over our southern border.

Every Republican yes vote on this bill has put themselves on a hit list. I don't know if the best course is to vacate the speaker seat before November, but it's not an unreasonable idea.

It is a pitiful shame that the Republican Party is so full of thoroughly disreputable elitist scoundrels. Republican voters will figure out a way to hold them to account even if they have to vote for them in November, because obviously voting for Democrats is not a viable alternative.
