Roman Catholic Thoughts On Spiritual Delusion . . . .

Haydock and Jerome state the young man was nor correct about keeping the commandments
Ver. 19. S. Jerom thinks his answer was not conformable to truth

Jesus loves us while we were still sinners (law breakers)

No one has kept the Commandment in thought AND deed
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,...
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
Are commentaries infallible?

Without "her loving acts towards Jesus" her faith would have been dead and would not have saved her.

In Luke 19 there is no mention of faith at all in this passage but Jesus said that salvation has come to this house".

So what brought salvation to Zacchaeus's house?
What does the name "Jesus" mean? Once you figure that out you will have your answer.

Scripture tells us in Romans 2, "For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but the doers of the law who will be justified."
Paul argues that just being under the law and hearing it regularly was not enough to save anyone. Hearing the words of Moses's law could not making anyone righteous. In order to be declared righteous in God's eyes, one must obey the law. In fact,
Paul will later point out that a person living under the law would have to obey the law perfectly, in every way, in order to be declared righteous by God.

"Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin."

Another slow day at work I guess.

Jesus saves or Jesus is salvation. Since Jesus is salvation, Who came to the home of Zaccheus that day?
follow along:
Luke 19:9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.

"Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham."
Galatians 3:7

So the sons of Abraham are those that have faith.

Romans 4:16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all

I am a son of Abraham: are you?

Did Joseph obey the law perfectly? Scripture called him a righteous man.

I certainly am by faith. Did you mean this response for pilgrim or dingoling?

Jesus saves. Yes Jesus saves. But there is no mention of faith in that passage.

There is a difference between faith and faith alone. Scripture clearly teaches that faith without works is dead.

James 2:22, "You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was brought to completion by the works."

So why do the nCCs keep insisting that we are justified by faith alone and not by works when scripture clearly indicates otherwise?

did you not read post 474? is it that you don't understand it? or just don't want to understand it?

Romans 4: 5 However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness.
