I can't define harm for you, glen!
You're going to need to take the personal responsibility for defining the term for yourself
And once you do, I'm quite certain that you will concur that it is immoral to consciously and purposefully inflict needless harm upon others
What you are referring to is needed/needful harm
Very often, us human beings are unable to provide a greater good without causing harm in the process
Yours is a prime example
Due to our human limitations, we are oftentimes incapable of preventing/curing an illness/disease WITHOUT a painful medical procedure
What I am talking about is the conscious and purposeful infliction of NEEDLESS harm
If a doctor is able to heal WITHOUT harming and chooses to inflict harm anyway - this is NEEDLESS harm and the doctor is immoral
Again, very often, we humans have no other choice except to cause harm in the process of attaining a greater good
The same is NOT true of God!
God can ALWAYS achieve His every desired end WITHOUT causing us harm in the process
When God inflicts harm upon us it is ALWAYS, by definition, NEEDLESS
And, once again, to consciously and purposefully inflict needless harm upon others is immoral
I know it
You know it
From the book of Job, ch 38
From out of a storm,
the Lord said to Job:
2 Why do you talk so much
when you know so little?
3 Now get ready to face me!
Can you answer
the questions I ask?
4 How did I lay the foundation
for the earth?
Were you there?
5 Doubtless you know who decided
its length and width.
6 What supports the foundation?
Who placed the cornerstone,
7 while morning stars sang,
and angels rejoiced?
8 When the ocean was born,
I set its boundaries
9 and wrapped it in blankets
of thickest fog.
10 Then I built a wall around it,
locked the gates, 11 and said,
“Your powerful waves stop here!
They can go no farther.”
I find it amusing when the created, thinks they can judge the creator.
