Questions, Questions, Questions?

If God wants man's will to decide .... why does he allow life's events to influence our decisionns? Is choice a lottery?

Someone please answer this. It is a sincere question.

Is choice a lottery?

As Paul said, all things are permissable but not all things are beneficial.

Choices do matter, some people teach that we should be robots.

Not sure even Paul went that far.

IMO ..... to much theology.

Why even be born if one cannot be?

What is the point?

What is your opinion of Paul's coments above?
Yea, we can’t have to much theology now! Theology, doctrine, …. Cause division.

John 14:2
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
The Calvinists can go to the East side, the Arminians to the West, the non-denominationals go north, and who shall we put in the south?

John 6:37
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. (Read 38-40 if it matters to you.)

John 10
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30I and my Father are one.

John 17
6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. 7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. 8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. 9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. 10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. 11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. 24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

This thread has become deepressing. Leaving for a few hours didn't help. I even went to a new site after dealing with Mormons for fifteen years. It didn't help. Animosity between Arminians and Calvinists is wrong and upsetting. The verses I posted above say that anyone given to Christ by the Father will be kept. So many Arminians will say, Those are the Arminians. Many Calvinists or psuedo-Calvinists will say the Arminians aren't in that group. You know what? My head hurts (literally). I thought Christianity would give me peace. ?

We had a chance to help you, forgive us for letting you down in your hour of need...

Hopefully it will be a lesson learned...

Eph. 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,

Phil. 1:29 For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,

Rom. 12:3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

2Pet. 1:1 Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
It's amazing that point still has to be argued.

Not really

Eph 2:8 does not say faith is the gift

and granted does not mean unilaterally irresistibly installed

Rom 12:3 is not even addressing saving faith

and 1Pe does not state how gained

if faith is the gift of God how can any interfere with it

Matthew 13:19 (KJV 1900) — 19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

and how could it ever fail

1 Timothy 1:19 (KJV 1900) — 19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:

I agree. But it's pathetic that "Christians" think they are doing the right thing to argue against scripture. And they make false accusattiona against something they won't bother to study!
